How Linkedin can get you More Business Why is Linkedin important for business professionals seeking leads Linkedin is the largest professional network, with over 200 million active and engaged employees, directors and owners. Pic The power of Linkedin is in the second degree. For instance my 655 connections link me to 8,904,308 professional people. So there is a very good chance that the people who know like and trust me know people I would like to be introduced to….. If you have ever attended a BNI networking event, the chapter Director will probably have emphasised that the power of BNI is not in the people sitting around the table. But in the people that they know. And BNI is right and they have plenty of testimonials to back that up. However with BNI, and I chose BNI because they are the largest referral network. You are limited to the people in the room which is usually about 20 people. With Linkedin there is no limit to the people you can get to know. When you’re talking with someone at a networking event you don’t know who they know. And it would be considered impolite maybe even rude to ask if you could look at their mobile and see who they know. Yet with Linkedin you get exactly that. Linkedin tells you who your connections know. Get Introduced to your Ideal Customer You have identified who your ideal customer is and through Linkedin you can get introduced to precisely the people that you want to be introduced to. Your ideal customer, an unlimited supply of ‘ideal customers’ are within your reach. But… There is a skill in getting introductions. Most people go about getting introduced to their ideal customer inappropriately. And that is one of the main reasons why some say that Linkedin doesn’t work . You can spend time in mastering that skill and become a Linkedin power user who chooses what business they want to do. Or you can have a ‘done for you service’. Where you get a professional Linkedin profile that is attractive to your clients and get introduced to those clients that you would like to work with.
