http://bridalmentor.com/reduce-wedding-planning-stress/ No one ever said planning a wedding was easy. If they did, then it’s because they forgot what it was like to plan the wedding and only remember how wonderful their wedding day turned out. Planning a wedding is a huge task and that’s why most brides are engaged for about a year. In this time you may notice that you are feeling overwhelmed by the whole process. Here are three tips to help you stay calm and reduce your wedding planning stress. amy chadd 05 Top 3 Ways to Reduce Wedding Planning Stress Decide What’s Really Important to You There are so many details to figure out for your wedding. Some are big and some are small. Decide early on which 3-5 details are the most important to you. If you notice that you’re spending a lot of time on something that’s not on your list, you may want to refocus your energy on what’s important. Get Organized Now The more organized you are during the wedding planning process, the less stress you will feel pulling it all together within the last few weeks. That time can be the most stressful with brides so if you keep all the big details together and organized then it will help everything fall into place. I also suggest having a binder with all contracts and vendor worksheets. Having a designated place for everything will help you to know where information is when you need it quickly. Stay up on Thank You Cards The sheer number of thank you cards can be completely overwhelming. Between engagement gifts, shower presents and wedding gifts, it’s easy for your list of thank you cards to grow and grow and grow. Writing thank you notes can take a lot of time, and it’s usually a task that brides don’t enjoy. There is no reason that you have to wait until after your wedding to get started on your thank you cards. Are there guests on your list that will pre-send gifts or who can’t attend and you’ve received a gift from? Those people are really easy to get out of the way before your wedding day. Also, there is no rule that says all of the cards have to come from you. It can relieve a little stress to have your new husband write the thank you’s to his college friends and other groups. Feeling stressed during the planning process is completely normal. It happens to just about every bride (even the ones that don’t panic until the night before). Having a good support system that you can turn to when you need to vent is also an invaluable tool. Happy Planning!!
