How to Use Trello to

Effectively Manage

Your Project By Allan T. Aguirre

Trello is a tool that

organizes your projects

into boards.

Open your browser

Go to www.trello.com

This is Trello’s log in page

Click Sign up

Enter your Name

Enter your Email address

Create your Password

Click Create New Account

You can also sign up with

your Google account

Click Sign up with Google

This is Trello’s dashboard

To start, let’s create a

board

A board is intended for

your project

Click Create new board

You can also create a

board by clicking + sign

Enter Title of your project

Click Create

You now have your new

board

You can now add lists to

your board

Enter a list

Click Save

Click Add a card to add

card on your list

Click Add

You can still add cards to

your list

Then click Add

Click Add a list to make

another list

Click Save

Click Add a card to put

cards on your list

Click Add

You can add more cards

to your list

You can also add lists on

your board

Next is to add members of

your project

Click Show Menu

Click Add Members

You can search for a

member in Trello

Or input the email

address

Let’s try to add an email

outside of Trello

Trello will ask to add the

name of the member

Trello will send an email

invite

Then click Send

You can also invite

members thru a link

Click Invite people by

giving them a special link

Trello will create a special

link

Copy the link and send it

to your member

Click the link

Do right-click

Click Copy

Paste the link in your

email invite

Do right-click

Click A to paste

And send to your member

Your member receiving

your email

By clicking the link

They can register to Trello

To change background,

click Change Background

Select the background

color you like

To filter, click Filter Cards

Type to filter your cards

You can filter by term,

labels, members or date

Add details to your card

for ease of filtering

Click the pencil icon to

add details

You can edit your card

Click Edit Labels to edit

label

Label also puts color

code in your card

Click the pencil icon to

change label and color

Enter label

And select color

Click Save

Click selected label

Then click Save

You now have a label for

your card

Click the card to see

details

You can add members

specifically to this card

And send email to the

members

You can still edit the label

You can also put a

checklist for this card

Click Checklist

Type your checklist

Click Add

Your checklist is added

You can also indicate a

due date

Click Due Date

Select the date

Click Save

Your due date has been

indicated

You can also add an

attachment

Click Attachment

You can select the

location of your file…

…or indicate a link for

your file

Click Attach

You can also link your

Trello board to other apps

This is thru Power-Ups

Click View All

You have selection of

applications

Scroll down to view more

apps

You can also move your

card

Click Move

Click Objectives

Select new location

Click Move

Alternatively, you can

also move cards manually

Click and hold a card

Drag it to where you want

it to be

The new location of your

card

Moving cards is essential

in monitoring progress

To end it up, you can also

add stickers

Click Stickers

Select your sticker
