Quentin Tarantino has trademarked the trunk shot camera angle and he's used it in every movie he has directed.

The torture scenes in his films are what make audiences really cringe. When these characters are being held hostage there is a feeling of empathy and realism of the scenario.

In Tarentinos films this gives a sense of mystery for the audience, before revealing who the person calling actually is.

Reflection

Both directors are two of the greats of the genre, directing some of the greatest films ever seen on the big screen. Some of their signature trademarks have really influenced my decision making in deciding the type of shots to implement in my trailer . For example the trunk shot would be very interesting to try out. It gives the person opening the trunk a sense of power which is accurately portrayed to the audience making it a very effective technique to use in a genre like gangster which is all about showing power and dominance.
