• Throughout these stages there were many media technologies involved which helped us to conclude our final music video. These media technologies were fundamental to our research, planning, construction and evaluation stages. For instance, the use of mobile phone’s, Apple Macs, editing software's such as Final Cut Pro and Motion were vital to making our music video.

The primary sources we used to upload research to our blogs was through Prezi and PowerPoint. Both sources are extremely effective in writing up information whilst organising and constructing your work to make it look creative and efficient.

Speaking of Google, Google has many other features as well as its effective search engine. I have used google documents to create a research form. This research form is a audience feedback form consisting the questions about what sort of music genre they like. From the information we gathered, we gained a useful amount of information to start figuring our what sort of genre and style our music video will lead into. Equipment

We used a sufficient amount of equipment for the planning process. For instance we used a Panasonic camcorder to film our lip syncing testing. We filmed this in a studio where we can capture a variety of shots which establish the lip-syncing, such as close-up shots. This media technology is really effective as it allowed our group to capture the detail in 720p which is good enough for a test shot.

We used YouTube to upload our vlogs, YouTube is a global reach which will allow people to watch our vlog and give feedback about the ideas we are speaking of. Vlogs allow us to speak our mind and come up with ideas fluently and freely. This will help us to develop the ideas we have.

We used a Nikon DLSR to capture photographs of our locations, costumes and props which was really effective. This media technology was really effective because the photographs were captured in 1080p with enhanced high quality.

Final Cut Pro is a media technology that we used for our test shots. We used this technology to edit and construct our lip-syncing test shot and featuring a significant amount of effects such as graphic matching, cross overs and sound cuts. These effects gave us a glimpse of how our music video will turn out to be if we continue to use these effects on this amazing software. Furthermore, the tools such as fading were really effective as it helped to build a narrative for the audience. As the we live in the ‘Digital Age’ our generation has become so fond of social networking sites that it is virtually our soul to connect with people on the internet. This was effective for group as sometimes there aren’t ways in which we can communicate with one another, however with Twitter our whole group has a account so we can definitely communicate with each other.

One of the ways we communicated with each other was through out Iphone’s. Mobile Phones is a essential feature in the ‘Digital Age’ we live in today as everyone has one. We used the app ‘WhatsApp’ to communicate with one another. WhatsApp allowed us to create a group chat were we can message each other all at once. This was really effective as we could share our ideas, opinions, photos and videos at any point in the day. Mobile Phone is a key feature in production nowadays as it allows people to communicate and interact with one another with ease.

Filming Process

We used a Tripod to capture the still, difficult shots. The tripod gave us a range of angles and positions to capture which was effective. Some of the shots we wanted the capture required a still angle which was difficult. The Tripod allowed us to capture the best shots possible.

Throughout the planning process we used a Panasonic camcorder to capture our test shots. It had a 720p quality which was effective for the planning process. However, for our final music video, we chose to use the Nikon DLSR which has a 1080p high quality range. Having this enhancement would make our music video look professional, sufficient and effective. The DLSR managed to capture some fantastic shots which was effective. Although we had more experience with the camcorder as we used it in AS, we decided to take the risk and capture our footage on a DLSR where the footage will enhance our chances of making our portfolio much better.

Media and Communications

YouTube allowed our group to upload our footage. The uploading process is easy and effective as it lets you share your footage in HD. This form of Digimodernism allowed our group to become the consumer of the text as we the audience share the text. This will allow others to view and place there comments below, affecting our work which will help us to improve our work.

We uploaded all our footage and photographs onto a Apple Mac which has a incredible amount of storage. This was effective as it is a extremely reliable and easy to function. We put our footage into folders were we can easily access them. Along with uploading our footage and photographs. The mac had software's such as Final Cut Pro and Motion which was effective.

Additionally, once again we used mobile phones to communicate with one another as this was a huge advantage in our production process. It allowed us to interact with each other so that we know were to meet up to film, our filming schedule, what to upload to our blogs, what to edit and many more. This was a effective and primary source for our group.

Editing

Another media technology we used for our editing process was Adobe Photoshop CS6. This was used to edit our digipak photographs. We found Photoshop easy to use as we all had experience in using it before. Photoshop was really effective as it completely formed our digipak photographs into professional-looking digipaks. This media technology enhanced our development process significantly.

Motion is another effective software our group found useful to use as we have experience in using it from AS. Motion is known for manipulating footage into creating exciting footage such as changing the effects of the lights which we did in AS. However, this time around we have decided to only use motion to create our intertitles in our music video. We used a text box to write ‘We Found Love’ ‘(and the date)’ whilst experimenting with the fonts, colours and styles to match our genre convention. This was effective and efficient for our music video.

Editing

Another useful media technology we used was In Design. In Design helped us to create our digipak cover. This was a effective software as the tools helped us to finalise our design. It gave our group a digipak album layout which helped us to insert our digipak photographs. This media technology was useful and efficient for our group.

Once again, we used final cut pro to edit our final music video. We have a significant amount of experience of using Final Cut Pro from AS so it was easy to function. This improved our time consuming. Furthermore, Final Cut Pro was effective because it helped to establish our narrative with effects such as graphic matches and fading which created a meaning in our music video. These tools and effects allowed us to manipulate our footage into a perspective we wanted to perceive to our audience.
