1) Which page of my final product appeals to you the most?

Front Cover

Contents Page

Double Page Spread

These results show that 50% liked my Front Cover the most, 20% liked my Contents Page the most and 30% liked my Double Page Spread the most. I am glad that my Front Cover was the most popular, as this is what gives the reader the first impression of the magazine. However, it is still important that the reader likes all of the pages.

2) What do you think is the age of my niche target audience?

11-14 years

15-18 years

19+ years

80% of the people I asked chose the correct niche target audience. The 20% (2 people) who chose 19+ years said they chose so because it looked sophisticated, and the language in my editorial fit this age. As the majority chose the correct option, I am pleased with this result.

3) What gender do you think my niche target audience is?

Male

Female

100% correctly chose that my magazine was aimed at females. This was a great result, and they said they knew this due to the colour scheme of pink and black, and the names of the bands/artists on the front such as - One Direction which stereotypically, females would be more interested in.

4) Does the colour scheme reflect the Pop genre of my magazine?

Yes

No

80% of the people I asked chose yes to this answer. However, the 20% that said no stated:“The pink did reflect a pop genre, however on the contents page there was a lot of grey and not a lot of colour”“It could of had brighter colours”I have taken in to consideration these two responses. However, I purposely didn’t use too many bright colours in order to avoid a child-like quality. With these responses, I know to perhaps use slightly less grey on the contents page.

5) Do you think the cover-lines on my Front Cover reflect a Pop genre?

Yes

No

100% of the people I asked chose yes. They said this was because the names of the famous bands/artists in the cover-lines and header were all pop artists and this made it clear to the reader.

6) Do you feel you can relate to my chosen models in terms of age and appearance?

Yes

No

90% of the people I asked chose yes, and only 10% chose no. This is a good result for my magazine as I purposely chose models of around the same age as my target audience so that they could relate with them. I think this an important feature of a magazine as it could encourage a reader to buy/read the magazine.

7) Would you recommend this magazine to other people of the same age as you?

Yes

No

This is a perfect result as 100% would recommend this magazine to people of their own age, and everyone that I asked was within the age range of my target audience – 15-18. This means that I have successfully used techniques to attract my intended target audience.

8) Do you find the overall appearance of my magazine appealing?

Yes

No

I am extremely pleased with this result as 100% of the people I asked found the overall appearance of my magazine appealing. This is important as they were all within my target audience and therefore, I can generalise this and conclude that I have successfully connected with my target audience and attracted them to my magazine.
