The key content of this magazine is clearly based on superman. This Medium shot of his upper body and face disguises part of the ‘I’ in the title ‘Empire’. This character is central on the cover so it shows you that he’s the main selling point.

The colour Scheme for this cover is mainly black, white and red. These colours contrast well and emphasize the red, bold film company title: ‘Empire’. The costume which superman is wearing also blends in with the film. This shows the consistency and how it plays an important role in making the cover look presentable.

The tag word ‘Exclusive’ creates this feeling of curiosity for the audience. It encourages you to get an inside look as to what this ‘dark knight treatment’ is.The ‘Man of steel’ is

written in a shiny, metallic font which relates to the word ‘Steel’ because of it being a metal. The man is basically described as a strong and unbreakable character in this sense.

Other films of the same genre are mentioned so the person buying this magazine won’t just be wanting to read about superman.

We can see the prominent veins on his hand because this associates to the characters strength.

The two males are looking directly at the female character so we know that they both are attracted/have feelings for her. This gives us a rough idea of the storyline without even watching the film beforehand.
