Action – Furious 7In this film poster you can clearly see that its an action film because of the words at the top ‘Vengeance hits home’. Which implies that there will be more techniques that will be done and used by the characters which will make the movie more interesting.

The colours used in the poster are darker which allows for the audience to know that something serious will be happening within the film. The implies that something bad will happen in the movie.

Since it is a sequel of the previous movies the audience already has an idea of what to expect in the movie.

Adventure – Jurassic World

In the movie Jurassic World poster what can be seen is that is involves a grey/ Black colour scheme, this gives a sense that the movie could be mostly taken place within a dark atmosphere.

The quote ‘The park is open’ shows that the movie is taken place outdoors, this gives an idea that the adventure will be outside and not really indoors.

Dinosaur it shows that it’s such a large creature which needs to be in a atmosphere with lots of space, also it’s a T-Rex one of the most dangerous creature to be therefore this will create the adventure within the movie.

Comedy – The Hangover

The Hangover movie posters directly gives a humorous impression to the audience when they see the father and baby wearing sunglasses. This part of the poster confirms that there will be humour within the film.

The colour scheme in this poster is with bright colours such as yellow, showing that the movie won’t really have serious moments were something bad might happen, and if it does after the incident something funny will happen.

The quote ‘Some guys just can’t handle Vegas’, could surprise the audience by since there is a baby involve which is unusual since Vegas is mostly a place were +21s go to gamble. Therefore showing what plan the guys might have when trying to enter to a casino.

Horror- The ConjuringWhat makes the poster more mysterious is the scenery, also the shadow of a girl hanged but you cannot see her body only the shadow of the hanged girl, this will create enigmas for the audience, and the only way to actually know what happens is by watching the movie.

The idea of the movie being based on ‘real life’ could scare people, but be curious of what kind of thing have happened to the Warrens when they got the demon out of the house. This shows that its a horror since there is Paranormal activity occurring within the household.

Science Fiction – Blade RunnerThe Blade Runner poster shows instantly that the movie is science fiction because of the building types which look more extra-terrestrial. The idea that UFOs are round and has various amounts of lights is linked somehow to the future. This idea gave as a result into making the buildings look just like UFOs.

The quote ‘Man has made his match… now it’s his problem’, this will cause enigmas for the audience when they see the poster. Also, this quote shows that since man is responsible for the creation of robot lookalikes as humans, in other words the “replicants” which now want to extend their 4 year lifespan.

Thriller - InceptionThe inception movie poster is quite unique for including a slight part of the movie into the poster, this gives a kind of clear idea to the audience of what its to expect from the poster.

The quote ‘The dream is real…’ explains what the movie is about therefore it all starts with a dream, in order to start the movie.

The colours that are included in the poster gives an eerie effect, this reinforces the genre of a thriller.

On top of the movie name on the poster you can see the Protagonists real name and not the character’s name, this will even attract more audience since a well-known actor is staring in the movie.

Romance - Love ActuallyIn the love actually poster the colour scheme and bow obviously shows that its around Christmas. Also, the letter with the heart implies that its about love, this is what the audience would notice at first glance at the poster.

An obvious feature that this poster has is its name itself which has the word ‘love’.

The actors are also very well-known therefore it will attract more audience. Rowan Atkinson is one of the actors there which shows that there will be lots of humour since the majority of films that he is in are mostly comedy.
