Diary Entry 1 - 26th November 2015

My magazine front cover - Initial idea - In the making:• I first drew a rough sketch of how I

wanted my front cover to look like, then using Photoshop I put it together adding in colour and the other conventions of a magazine front cover.

• Unfortunately this was a bit time consuming, but in the end I was able to put it together and make it look professional.

• Now I can carry on with the rest of the preproduction and creating the rest of my magazine

• I would have changed the font of some of the words and I would have added more colour to my front cover, if I could have done it again.

Diary Entry 2 - 27th November 2015Logo - Initial idea - How I created it:• At first I had considered creating the

logo of my magazine on Photoshop, but I latter decided to up to create it online, with a logo creator website. This allowed me to save time whilst having a logo that looked professional. Further more I can strengthen the identity of the brand even further, for my audience. The logo will make my magazine easily and quickly identifiable, setting it apart from other magazines.

• In turn this will allow me to move on to other parts in the preproduction and production process of my magazine.

• If I were to do it again I would: crate the logo straight from the logo creator website, instead of wasting time making it on Photoshop.

Diary Entry 3 - 27th November 2015

Barcode - How I created it:• I created a barcode to put on the

front cover of my magazine, using a barcode creating website. Doing this didn’t take up too much of my time and the website was easy to use.

• Since it didn’t take long to do this I could swiftly move on to creating other components of my magazine, so I could complete my preproduction.

• I would use different website to create the barcode. By this I mean that makes it look more professional and real. This would bring more credibility to my front cover as if it was professionally designed my an actual magazine company.

Diary Entry 4 - 28th November 2015

My content page - Initial idea - In the making:• Like the front cover first I drew a basic

sketch of how I wanted my front cover to look like. Then with the help of Photoshop I created the background, the I added the text and the images.

• Creating the content page was also time consuming and it took more time than I had anticipated, but in the end I was able to complete it.

• Finishing the content page lets me move forward to starting to create the rest of the production process.

• If I were to do my content page again I would try to use up less time to create the content page.

Diary Entry 5 - 28th November 2015

Double page spread article - Initial idea - In the making• I also did a sketch for the double page

spread. The sketch allows me to have a rough idea of how my article should be laid out. Then I written the article and created the double page spread.

• Planning and writing the actual article took a lot longer than actually putting every thing together to create the double page spread.

• With the magazine done next step is to check that I have used all the conventions of a Pop music magazine.

• If could do it again I would make my article longer and even more detailed than what it currently is.

Diary Entry 6 - 3rd December 2015Font research:• Before deciding what fonts to use on

my magazine; I tested out different font creating websites sites and dozens of different fonts. This allowed me to customize my magazine. There fore I think I found fonts that will attract my target audience.

• This allowed me to add and continue developing my front cover, my content page and my double page spread article.

• If I were to do it again I would test out even more fonts to use in my magazine. Also I would get the opinions of the public on what fonts attract peoples attentions. This will make sure that my magazine is effective, when it comes to grabbing the attention of the public.

Diary Entry 7 - 10th December 2015 Initial ideas for photography - Photography Sketches:• I sketched out the type of clothes I wanted

my artist to wear and the camera shots that I planed to use in my magazine. The way that the artist dressed had to me in line with the Pop music conventions.

• This took a lot longer than I expected it to take. I think this is because I had to redraw some of the images multipole times, before the even resembled clothes or faces. This allows me to have a clearer idea on who to dress my models, when taking the images and at what angles I should take the images.

• I was able to redo this I would draw more images for other camera angles and shot that I could use on my magazine. Doing this would give me more choice when picking what pictures to use, on my magazine. Additionally it gives my magazine move variety, making it visually more interesting.

Diary Entry 8 - 18th December 2015The conventions of magazines, that I have used in designing my magazine:• The headings, text, use of images, colour (to

connotate pop magazines• In my magazine I will use different images that show

the Pop music genre; from the way my models are dressed to the makeup they were, to the poses in the images.

• I will also used different fonts that I think indicate the Pop music genre. For example the headings and the text are of two different fonts.

• Furthermore the colours scheme used for each page of my magazine are in line with the Pop music genre and clearly show brand identity.
