What? We have created this app with the

intention of providing effective, beneficial,

and hassle-free access to all the required

information about various pet animals. This

app will be free, allowing the widest possible range of customers

access to our services.

Who? We initially anticipated the app to be for all ages, yet once

we started designing it, the cartoons gave

the impression of it being solely for children.

However, the service it provides is usable

by all ages, as long as the customer has admission

to the requested information.

When? The context in which this app would

be used is when a person is stuck on which pet

to buy, if they should buy it and if they already

have a pet, how to look after it best.

About our app

Page 3: Pet wise app presentation

When (continued)? When a person is

stuck on which pet to buy, if they should

buy it and if they already have a pet, how

to look after it best.

Where? It’s compatible with any

SmartTech providing they have access to Wi-

Fi; you can use our app anywhere!

Why? It’s particularly beneficial for people hesitant on whether

they are capable of owning and caring for a pet in the way it

should be treated, and this is what our app provides. Upon further

thought, we realised this was also favourable

for us since it would mean if this app was

created, we would have a wide range of

customers, hence ensuring our app is as well-

known as possible.

The Problem From our user research, a lot of

the problems were trying to find

solutions to the customer

dilemmas, which many included pets,

as well as educational factors (e.g. revision cards). Due

to this, we decided to combine those two factors

together and thus form our initial idea of providing

(educational) information about certain (albeit a lot) of

animals used as pets.

Our aimAt Pet Wise, we are developing an

app that will hopefully give all

people their requested information

about pet animals, all in once place.

We are passionate about animals, and aim to give them

the best chance of having the best possible owner for

them, so by providing the buyer with

information, they will know what pet is

right for them and so will not make a

mistake and treat their

unloved pet badly. This will result in less

hassle for RSPCA.

Target Audience ResearchFrom our research on asking our

target audience (which was

specifically Year 9 students, but can

be anybody), we saw that most people

preferred our pet app idea, and so we decided we

should choose that idea for our final app because it gave

it more chance of more people buying it, so it would

become more popular.

CompetitionThere are many already existing

pet apps, yet they are virtual

games that do not necessarily

provide educational and helpful

information.

We think our app will stand up to the

competition since it provides

beneficial information, so it’s not just a

one-way relationship between us and the

customer.

Also, because it will be free, people will have even more

motivation to purchase our app.

A person is stuck on what pet to buy, how

to solve a problem with their current pet, or

whether they should buy a new pet.

They search for the solution on Google/an

AppStore.

They (most likely to be a teenager) see our

app, and know it will help them due to it’s

name: Pet Wise.

This process may reoccur with several people,

increasing our popularity.

Page 9: Pet wise app presentation

FeasibilityWe believe our app is possible to

make, and we will not encounter

any complications whilst making it.

This is because it only consists of

information on animals, games, and different pictures

about it.

It could definitely be made in 3 months, and it would also

be simple for the customer to use. This app doesn’t

include many technicalities.

Page 10: Pet wise app presentation

Our ideaWe had previously wanted to set the app

in a moving corridor with names of pets

on doors, that enter in order to reach

your information. At the end of the corridor

there will be a quiz that recommends the best pet for the

customer, and games at the end of each room to test their

knowledge. to instantly let the customer know they were going

to learn something, yet this would have been difficult to do on a

mock-up since Balsamiq didn’t provide this service. However,

although this wouldn’t be possible on Balsamiq, we

decided to keep this idea, and then make it

move if we got further than this stage.

How do we make money from

a free app?

Because we will have games to test

what our customer has learnt, we will allow

them to buy game coins. Game coins can eventually unlock

more information on animals, or, alternatively, the customer

could pay to unlock information directly. The difference is that

coins from the game improve the customers Pet Owner profile –

e.g. likeability, responsibility, kindness. Also, once you have

reached a specific amount

of game coins, you can

use them to buy information.
