When was Crists’s birth really? It wasn’t December 25th!

In the book of Luke we read that the father of John the Baptist wasZacharias, and he was a priest who served at the temple in Jerusalem. He was"of the course of Abia“ (Luke 1:5). While serving at the temple, he was informedby an angel that his wife was to have a son, who was to be named "John." Afterthis, Zacharias finished "the days of his ministration,“ and "departed to his ownhouse" (v.23). "And after those days, his wife Elizabeth conceived...“ (v. 24).

The course of Abia would have been the 8th of those mentioned in 1Chronicles 24:1-19. It would have only happened twice a year. The particularcourse he was in was delayed by Pentecost by a week, so he ended up leavingthe week after Pentecost to go home. He would have gotten home and shewould have conceived sometime in June. Add 9 months… John the Baptist wasborn in Mid-March before the Passover. Jesus was conceived six months laterafter John (Luke 1:24-31). So he was conceived in December, making his birththe month of September. This being said, Early Christians that were followers of“The Way” didn’t even celebrate the birth of Christ because it was considered apagan tradition to celebrate birthdays.
