HOMELESS COALITION

The Greater Cincinnati Coalition for Homelessness works “toward the eradication of homelessness with respect for the dignity and diversity of its membership, the homeless and the community.”

The coalition provides education to the community and works in cooperation with other agencies in the area to reach this common goal.

We served at four different agencies during the week, all of which address issues related to homelessness:

City Gospel Mission Tender Mercies St. Francis Seraph Freestore Foodbank

SERVICE

CITY GOSPEL MISSION

“Each year the Mission provides nearly 116,000 meals and 28,000 nights of shelter to people in need. A hot,

delicious meal served with loving kindness can lead a homeless individual to seek the more in-depth help they

need to change.”

ST. FRANCIS SOUP KITCHEN

Serves meals Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings starting at 4:30 and operates through donations by the Freestore Foodbank, churches, and other local agencies

TENDER MERCIES

“Tender Mercies transforms the lives of homeless adults with mental illness by providing security, dignity, and community in a place they call home.”

The agency has 1 transitional and 5 permanent housing buildings.

FREESTORE FOODBANK

“Providing food and services, creating stability, and furthering self-reliance for people in crisis… to be the leader of a community mobilized to end hunger and address its causes.”
