Opening Prayer (In Unison) O God, Creator and Preserver of all creation! Give to our poor children the grace of Your Holy Spirit, that He may light within them that true fear of God which is the beginning of wisdom, and common sense, the following of which is a source of eternal praise. Bless them with true knowledge of you. Enable them to grow in true saving faith, and let those be with them to the end. May they, with all of the chosen, give you honor, praise, and glory through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. Opening Prayer (In Unison)

O God, Creator and Preserver of all creation! Give to our poor children the grace of Your Holy Spirit, that He may light within them that true fear of

God which is the beginning of wisdom, and common sense, the following of which is a source of eternal praise. Bless them with true knowledge of you. Enable them to grow in true saving faith, and let those be with them to the

end. May they, with all of the chosen, give you honor, praise, and glory through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Unison Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 (NRSV)

24Do you not know that in a race all the runners compete, but only one receives the prize? So run in such a way that you may win it. 25Every athlete exercises self-control in all things; they do it to receive a perishable wreath,

but we do it for an imperishable one. 26So I do not run aimlessly, nor do I box as though beating the air; 27but I discipline myself, so that after

preaching to others I myself should not be disqualified.

God, we love you and the genuine expression of love is giving. You showed your love for us first by giving us your Son. We demonstrate our love for you by giving now a portion of what you have given to us. We give freely. We give cheerfully. We will not rob you. Instead, we will worship you by giving from our heart.  You are our #1 priority. We will not treat banks or bills better than we treat you because you deserve all the glory, the honor and the praise. We refuse to live under a curse. Therefore, in obedience to your Word, we bring our tithe and our offering to you today. PUT your promise into action! Open the windows of heaven and provide what we need for our desires and our destiny! POUR into our lives the phenomenal and spectacular by releasing a

Page 6: Announcements and Opening Prayer June 1, 2014

blessing that is beyond our wildest dreams! PROTECT everything that we currently have and do not permit the enemy to abort anything that you are trying to give us for our future.  The tithe is what we owe, the offering is seed we sow. We sow now with the expectation of jobs and better jobs, of businesses and greater businesses, of raises and bonuses, of houses and land, of freedom from debt and supernatural increase. Bless us indeed and enlarge our territory as we live for your glory. Alleluia! In the mighty, matchless and miraculous name of Jesus, we confess. Amen!

The group included members of the Adams, Borden, Daniels, Faison, Gordon, Guest, Hall, Henderson, Logan, McWhite, Monroe, Nelson, Perry. Rutherford, Shaver, Snelling, Stiles, Washington, Watkins, and Williams families who founded THE 22nd STREET CHURCH OF God in November, 1914 in Tampa, Florida.
