He must have prayed this time.

God gave him the answer!

10 And the Lord discomfited (put into commotion) them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Beth-horon, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah. 11 And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Beth-horon, that the Lord cast down great stonesgreat stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were moremore which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.

Panic seized the enemy and after a short stand in which many were killed they broke and fled in wild confusion toward the west. Their escape route was through a narrow pass and down the Valley of Aijalon with the Israelites in hot pursuit.

12 Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, SunSun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, MoonMoon, in the valley of Ajalon.

14

First Joshua talked to the Lord,

Then to sun and the moon.

Do you think they obeyed?

Page 15: Joshua 10a

13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. 14 And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lord hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the the Lord fought for IsraelLord fought for Israel.

When I was a teenager in the youth group we had a tragedy when one of youth, a 15 year old girl named Stephanie was killed in a car wreck while in a car with another one of our youth after church on a Sunday afternoon. It was devastating. Stephanie was very popular at her school and loved the Lord. God worked through that terrible time and nearly seventy teenagersseventy teenagers from her school and church accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior! I believe that Jesus and Stephanie were turning cartwheels in Heaven.
