Introduction :

Lions Clubs International was founded in the United States in 1917 by Melvin Jones a businessman Chicago

First Lioness Club in the world – Pleasant Lioness Club North Carolina 24th December 1975.

1976, March 1 founding of the First Lioness Clubs in the India in Agra and in Visakhapatnam was done.

India’s entry into the LIONS family (the 63rd nation)

Lions Clubs International (LCI) is the world's largest secular service organization with over 44,500 clubs and more than 1.4 million members in 201 countries around the world.

Permanent Activities of Lioness : Sight First : The Lions ambitious Sight First

Program has restored sight through cataract surgeries, prevented serious vision loss and improved eye care services for hundreds of millions of adults and children. To continue and expand this effort, Lions have launched Campaign Sight First II, with a goal of raising at least US$150 million.

Lioness Quest : Lions Quest programs are school-based, comprehensive, positive youth development and prevention programs that unite the home, school and community, to cultivate capable and healthy young people of strong character.

National Building : Child Care and Image : Each club to organize 4 medical check-up camps during the year in each cap with minimum 250 children should be examined for various ailments like dental check-up, medical camp, vaccination, preferably in Lions Quest Affiliated Schools.

Blood Donation : To arrange for Blood Donation and to collect minimum 25 bottles of blood in each camp.

Women esteem : The six day program me at RANDHEJA for the development of rural women.

The program me was on GRUHDHYOG, to develop self-employment. (16th January to 22nd January)

Aerobics work shop was held for lioness women members to create awareness about health(10th Nov to 12th Nov)

Workshop was held for lioness women members to develop basic knowledge of computer.

Medical Program me:

55 cataract operations were done.

Girls hemoglobin check up to give them sense of their health(2/12/2008)

Rasoi show for diabetic, heart patients for guidance of nutritious food & health tips.

Medical check up for diabetes was held for 108 people out of 4 patients were detected as diabetic(22/9/2008)

Childcare Programme:

Free eye check up camp for R.N.PATEL school children in which 1682 students check up was done.

A.A.Patel’s students were taken to RAYSAN for the multi media presentation on diabetes to create awareness.

Financial Procurement of Lion, Lioness, Leo—Gandhinagar :

Lions Clubs Internationals Charity Trusts Accounts Balance Sheet is made into 2 parts as to adjust the difference between financial year 1st April to 31st March and Lionistic year 1st July to 30th June.

The account for period 1st April to 30th June of the Lionistic year will have to be reconciled with accounts for period of 1st July to 31st March of next Lionsitic year.

Annual Membership fees Lions is Rs.3500per member to Rs.5500per member, Lioness Rs.300per member and Leo Rs.500per member

Advertisement in Club Directory – if any organization wants to give its advertisement in Clubs Directory has to pay advertisement charges.

Fund Raising Program like Navratri, Rang-Barse program, etc…

Every year the balance sheet is presented in meeting in front of Board of Directors and Past Presidents of the organization. The estimated budget is too submitted in the month of July as per (lionistic year) and exact expenses in the end of year that is in June.

Analysis : The District Governor, Presidents changes every year

and apart from permanent activities they have to do extra activities as apart of current year activity

They give different Slogan every year. The Slogan for the current year is “LIONISM A WAY OF LIFE”

we also found that the financial system was sound enough as different departments was maintained, so chances of manipulations decreases and a transparency is maintained.

At the time of interview we found that the children our there are happy about thus lions quest program me.

They also have this kind of activity for only one day in a week

In Gandhinagar Lion, Lioness, Leo joint hands with “Junior Citizen Council Gandhinagar” have stared a project in which they motivate people to donate their Eyes.

It was also found that donors receive tax exemptions under section 80(G)s of IT act 1961.

Suggestions : We have seen that the teacher in charge are not given any

formal training for this lions quest program me so, we suggest that they should given some formal training.

They also have this kind of activity for only one day in a week, they have to increase the days for the activities.

They do not have any competition of joint activity with lions quest center. We think it should be done so that they can interact with more students of other center.

Conclusion :
