•A non-profit, quarterly magazine based in New York City, Tricycle is a forum for independent, non-sectarian exploration of Buddhist teachings and practices worldwide. Founded in 1990, today Tricycle only accepts advertising from teachers and organizations that support the values and mission of the magazine; almost all printing and production costs are funded through charitable donations. Quarterly issues of Tricycle offer research reporting, commentary, and news on historical and contemporary Buddhism from around the world. Articles cover a wide range of religious practices and topics specific to Mahayana, Theravada, Tibetan, Vajrayana, Vipassana, Zen, Nichiren, Pure Land, and other Buddhist sects. Each issue of Tricycle is comprised of two sections: ‘Meditation and Buddhist Practices’ explores topics in compassion, devotion, chanting, generosity, concentration, and more; ‘Living in the World’ shares insight on applied Buddhism in daily life, covering topics such as science, food, health, sickness, aging, and more.
