AnotherparableHeputforthtothem,saying:“Thekingdomofheavenislikeamanwhosowedgoodseedinhisfield;butwhilemenslept,hisenemycameandsowedtaresamongthewheatandwenthisway.Butwhenthegrainhadsproutedandproducedacrop,thenthetaresalsoappeared.Sotheservantsoftheownercameandsaidtohim,‘Sir,didyounotsowgoodseedinyourfield?Howthendoesithavetares?’

Hesaidtothem,‘Anenemyhasdonethis.’Theservantssaidtohim,‘Doyouwantusthentogoandgatherthemup?’Buthesaid,‘No,lestwhileyougatherupthetaresyoualsouprootthewheatwiththem.Letbothgrowtogetheruntiltheharvest,andatthetimeofharvestIwillsaytothereapers,“Firstgathertogetherthetaresandbindtheminbundlestoburnthem,butgatherthewheatintomybarn.”’”

Heansweredandsaidtothem:“HewhosowsthegoodseedistheSonofMan.Thefieldistheworld,thegoodseedsarethesonsofthekingdom,butthetaresarethesonsofthewickedone. Theenemywhosowedthemisthedevil,theharvestistheendoftheage,andthereapersaretheangels.Thereforeasthetaresaregatheredandburnedinthefire,soitwillbeattheendofthisage.

TheSonofManwillsendoutHisangels,andtheywillgatheroutofHiskingdomallthingsthatoffend,andthosewhopracticelawlessness,andwillcastthemintothefurnaceoffire.Therewillbewailingandgnashingofteeth.ThentherighteouswillshineforthasthesuninthekingdomoftheirFather.Hewhohasearstohear,lethimhear!
