Exodus 4:21-23 NKJV And the LORD said to Moses, "Whenyou go back to Egypt, see that you do all those wondersbefore Pharaoh which I have put in your hand. But I willharden his heart, so that he will not let the people go. (22)Then you shall say to Pharaoh, Thus says the LORD: "Israelis My son, My firstborn. (23) So I say to you, let My son gothat he may serve Me. But if you refuse to let him go, indeedI will kill your son, your firstborn." 7. Death 8. When he lets yougo, he will surely drive you out of here altogether. 9. Death of Firstborn AnnouncedExodus 11:4-6 NKJV Then Moses said, "Thus says the LORD:About midnight I will go out into the midst of Egypt; (5)and all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from thefirstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, even to thefirstborn of the female servant who is behind the handmill,and all the firstborn of the animals. (6) Then there shall be agreat cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as was notlike it before, nor shall be like it again. 10. Death of Firstborn AnnouncedEx. 11:4-6 NKJV Then Moses said, "Thus says the LORD: Aboutmidnight I will go out into the midst of Egypt; (5) and all thefirstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn ofPharaoh who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the femaleservant who is behind the handmill, and all the firstborn of theanimals. (6) Then there shall be a great cry throughout all the landof Egypt, such as was not like it before, nor shall be like it again. (7)But against none of the children of Israel shall a dog move itstongue, against man or beast, that you may know that the LORDdoes make a difference between the Egyptians and Israel. 11. The Passover InstitutedExodus 12:1-11 NKJV Now the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron inthe land of Egypt, saying, (2) "This month shall be your beginningof months; it shall be the first month of the year to you. (3) Speakto all the congregation of Israel, saying: On the tenth of thismonth every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to thehouse of his father, a lamb for a household. (4) And if thehousehold is too small for the lamb, let him and his neighbor nextto his house take it according to the number of the persons;according to each mans need you shall make your count for the 12. The Passover InstitutedExodus 12:1-11 continued lamb. (5) Your lamb shall be withoutblemish, a male of the first year. You may take it from the sheep orfrom the goats. (6) Now you shall keep it until the fourteenth dayof the same month. Then the whole assembly of the congregationof Israel shall kill it at twilight. (7) And they shall take some of theblood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of thehouses where they eat it. (8) Then they shall eat the flesh on thatnight; roasted in fire, with unleavened bread and with bitter herbsthey shall eat it. (9) Do not eat it raw, nor boiled at all with water, 13. The Passover InstitutedExodus 12:1-11 continued but roasted in fireits head with its legs andits entrails. (10) You shall let none of it remain until morning, andwhat remains of it until morning you shall burn with fire. (11) Andthus you shall eat it: with a belt on your waist, your sandals on yourfeet, and your staff in your hand. So you shall eat it in haste. It isthe LORDs Passover. 14. I Will Pass OverExodus 12:12-14 NKJV For I will pass through the land of Egypt onthat night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt,both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will executejudgment: I am the LORD. (13) Now the blood shall be a sign foryou on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I willpass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy youwhen I strike the land of Egypt. (14) So this day shall be to you amemorial; and you shall keep it as a feast to the LORD throughoutyour generations. You shall keep it as a feast by an everlastingordinance. 15. Christ Our Passover1 Corinthians 5:7-8 NKJV (7) Therefore purge out the old leaven,that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. Forindeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us. (8) Therefore letus keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of maliceand wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity andtruth. 16. Christ Our Passover1 Peter 1:19-22 NKJV but with the precious blood of Christ, as of alamb without blemish and without spot. (20) He indeed wasforeordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifestin these last times for you (21) who through Him believe in God,who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that yourfaith and hope are in God. (22) Since you have purified your soulsin obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of thebrethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, 17. Christ Our PassoverRevelation 1:5-6 ESV and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, thefirstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him wholoves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood (6) and madeus a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory anddominion forever and ever. Amen. 18. Christ Our PassoverRomans 6:3-6 NKJV Or do you not know that as many of us aswere baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? (4)Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death,that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of theFather, even so we also should walk in newness of life. (5) For ifwe have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainlywe also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, (6) knowingthis, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sinmight be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. 19. Christ Our Passover1 John 1:7-9 NKJV But if we walk in the light as He is in the light,we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus ChristHis Son cleanses us from all sin. (8) If we say that we have no sin,we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (9) If we confessour sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanseus from all unrighteousness.
