Why on the intro page it says prophets of Islam? There has always been one religion on this earth. From the time of prophet Adam (As) till today one true religion has always existed and that is Islam. Judaism and Christianity are of the religion of Islam. However, man has corrupted (what we call today "Judaism" and "Christianity") and the true teachings of this one religion has been revealed to us today by the prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). [so Judaism and Christianity are the corrupted, altered religion of Islam; so Judaism/Christianity were religions of Islam]

Why is there an "(A.S.)" after Prophet Adam's name?(As) is an abbreviation for (Alihi Asalam). In Arabic, Alihi means on him, Asalam means peace, which translates to peace be upon him.

We don’t just say Adam, Jesus, Moses. After it we say peace be upon them, or on them be peace. We honor and respect these prophets and we take their examples in life to live by them.

[We cannot go out and put pictures or paint pictures of any of the prophets]. We as Muslims highlyvalue and honor the prophets sent to mankind by God.

What does Allah mean?Allah means God. The Almighty.

“Say, “He is Allah, [who is] One. Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, Nor is there to Him any equivalent.” (Chapter 112:1-4 Quran)

We also say Subhanahu wa-ta'ala (swt), Azza Wa Jall, or Jalla Jalaluhu after Allah’s name.

o Throughout this PowerPoint Quranic text are going to be in “Italic font” followed by the (chapter, and verse number).

Introduction

Page 4: Prophet Adam (Pbuh)

What is the Hadith?Hadith is what the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said in which was recorded in text. For example: person x said to person y said to person z, said that the prophet muhammad pbuh said that... Or person x said that the prophet muhammad pbuh said that...

Throughout history, the names of all the people have been recorded to get accurate hadiths.

There were many prophets and messengers sent throughout time to mankind to inform us of Allah (swt). For every nation at every time, there had been a prophet informing about Allah. Allah says in the Quran: “You, [O Muhammad], are not but a warner. Indeed, We have sent you with the truth as a bringer of good tidings and a warner. And there was no nation but that there had passed within it a warner.” (Chapter 35:23-24)

“And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [saying], "Worship Allah and avoid Taghut." And among them were those whom Allah guided, and among them were those upon whom error was [deservedly] decreed. So proceed through the earth and observe how was the end of the deniers.” (Chapter 16:36)

Adam (as) is the first prophet and the first human created. He is the father of mankind.

Before Adam (A.S.)

Page 6: Prophet Adam (Pbuh)

Allah (swt) is the creator of everything. Before Adam (as), Allah (swt) created the universe. He also created the angels and the jinn.

Creation of the Universe“He(Allah) is the Originator of the heavens and the earth” (Chapter 6:101)

“Do those who are disbelievers not see that the heavens and the earth were sewn together and then We unstitched them and that We made from water every living thing? So will they not have faith?” (Chapter 21:30)

“It is We Who have built the universe with (Our creative) power, and, verily, it is We Who are steadily expanding it.” (Chapter 51:47)

“We did not create heaven and earth and everything in between them to no purpose. That is the opinion of those who are disbelievers…” (Chapter 38:27)

Angels – The angels have different appointed tasks (jobs to do) by God, they do not disobey!“Praise be to Allah, Who created (out of nothing) the heavens and the earth, Who made the angels, messengers with wings,- two, or three, or four (pairs): He adds to Creation as He pleases: for Allah has power over all things.” (Chapter 35:1)

“O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your own families from a Fire whose fuel is mankind and stones, (and) over which are harsh, severe Angels, who do not disobey Allah in whatever He commands them and who perform whatever they are commanded to.” (Chapter 66:6)

'A'isha reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: The Angels were born out of light and the Jinns were born out of the spark of fire and Adam was born as he has been defined (in the Qur'an) for you (i.e. he is fashioned out of clay). (Sahih Muslim; Book 42, Number 7134)

Page 7: Prophet Adam (Pbuh)

Jinns The Qur'an reveals that jinns live in their own societies, have formed communities, and that they have ancestors (Qur'an, 7:38; 18:50) Although they live in a different dimension, the jinns can see, watch, and listen to people. Jinns have free will. There is good jinn and there is bad jinn. The “Devil, also known as Iblis, or Satan is of the bad jinn. Like humanity, jinns are responsible for obeying God's book. They will have to account for all they said and did.

"I only created jinn and man to worship Me“ (Chapter 51:56)

“O company of jinn and humanity. Did not Messengers come to you from among yourselves relating My Signs to you and warning you of the encounter of this Day of yours? They will say: "We testify against ourselves." The life of this world deluded them, and they will testify against themselves that they were unbelievers.” (Chapter 6:130)

"Among us [jinns] there are some who are righteous and some who are other than that. We follow many different paths. We realized we would never thwart God on Earth and would never thwart Him by flight, and when we heard the guidance, we believed in it…" (Chapter 72:11-13)

“And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire.” (Chapter 55:15)

Creation of Adam (A.S)

Page 9: Prophet Adam (Pbuh)

Abi Musa al Sha'arai narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Allah created Adam from a handful of dust taken from different lands, so the children of Adam have been created according to the composition of the land. Therefore from mankind we have white, red, black and yellow ones; we have good and evil, ease and sorrow, and what comes in between them." (Sahih al Bukhari).

"Truly, I am going to create man from clay. So when I have fashioned him and breathed into him (his) soul created by Me, then you fall down prostrate to him." (Chapter 38:71-72).

We imagine when Allah the Almighty decided to create Adam: He addressed His angels and told them to prostrate before him. He did not mean to ask their opinion or take their advice, for He is above that. Allah the Exalted told them that He was going to create a vicegerent on the earth who would have children and grandchildren who would corrupt the earth and shed each other's blood. That is why the angels said to Allah the Almighty: "Will You place therein those who will make mischief therein and shed blood!" (Chapter 2:30).

So Allah shaped Adam into a human being, but he remained a figure of clay for some time. The angels went past him. They were seized with fear by what they saw, and Iblis felt fear most. He used to pass by the figure of Adam, buffeting it, which would make a sound like pottery. Allah told us: "He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery." (Chapter 55:14).

When the time drew near to breathe the spirit into Adam, as Allah decreed, He commanded the angels: "When I breathe My spirit into him prostrate before him.”

Allah breathed His spirit into Adam and when it reached his head Adam sneezed. The angels said: "Say all praise belongs to Allah." Adam repeated: "All praise belongs to Allah." Allah said to him: "Your Lord has granted you mercy." When the spirit reached his eyes, Adam looked at the fruits of Paradise. When it reached his abdomen Adam felt an appetite for food. He jumped hurriedly before the spirit could reach his legs, so that he could eat from the fruits of Paradise. Allah, therefore, said:

"Man is created of haste." (Chapter 21:37) And then: "The angels prostrated themselves all of them together. Except Iblis, he refused to be

among the prostrators. (Ch 15:31-32)

Page 10: Prophet Adam (Pbuh)

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "Allah created Adam from dust after He mixed the clay and left him for some time until it became sticky mud, after which Allah shaped him. After that Allah left him till it became like potter's clay. Iblis used to go past him saying 'You have been created for a great purpose.' After that Allah breathed His spirit into him. The first thing into which the spirit passed was his eye and then his nose. He sneezed. Allah said: "May your Lord have mercy upon you, O Adam! Go to those angels and see what they would say.' So Adam went and greeted them. they replied saying: "Peace be upon you and the mercy and blessings of Allah." Allah said: "O Adam! This is your greeting and that of your offspring." (Sahih al Bukhari).

Adam opened his eyes and saw all the angels prostrating before him except one being who was standing at a distance Adam did not know what kind of creature it was that did not prostrate before him nor did he know its name. Iblis was standing with the angels so as to be included in the command given to them but he was not one of them. He was a jinn, and as such he was supposed to be inferior to the angels. What is clear is that this prostration was to show respect and did not mean that the angels were worshipping Adam. Prostrating in worship is done only for Allah..

Allah knew that Iblis was not going to obey Him in prostrating before Adam. Allah could have totally annihilated him or turned him into a handful of dust or stifled the refusal in his mouth. Yet, Allah gives His commissioned creatures absolute freedom even to the extent that they can refuse Allah the Almighty's commands. He grants them the freedom of denial, disobedience, and even disagreement with Him. His kingdom will not diminish if the disbelievers do not believe in Him nor will it be extended if many people believe in Him. On the contrary, the disbelievers will lose, and the believers will gain but Allah is above all of that.

After this lesson about freedom Adam learned another lesson, one about knowledge. Adam realized that Iblis was the symbol of evil in the universe and that the angels were the symbol of good. However he did not yet know anything about himself. Then Allah made him perceive his true identity and the reason for his creation, and the secret of his glorification. Allah the Exalted said: "He taught Adam all the names of everything". (Ch 2:31).

Page 11: Prophet Adam (Pbuh)

Almighty Allah granted Adam the power to know the natures of all things and to summarize them by names. After Adam had learned the names of all things, along with their properties and uses, Allah presented them to the angels and said:

"Tell Me the names of these if you are truthful.“ (Ch 2:31) The angels admitted their inability: "Glory be to You, we have knowledge except what You have taught us. Verily it is You the All

Knower, the All Wise." (Ch 2:32) Allah Almighty then turned to Adam: "O Adam! Inform them of their names," and when he had informed them of their names, He said:

'Did I not tell you that I know the unseen in the heavens and the earth, and I know what you reveal and what you have been hiding?'" (Ch 2:33)

The angels realized that Adam was the creature who knew what they did not know and that his capacity to learn was his noblest quality.

Page 12: Prophet Adam (Pbuh)

Creation of Hawa (A.S)

Page 13: Prophet Adam (Pbuh)

Adam knew the names of everything. After sometime Adam, felt lonely. One day he slept and when he awoke he found near his head, a woman gazing at his face. The angels asked him her name he replied: "Eve (Hawa)." (means living things). They asked: "Why did you call her Eve?" Adam said: "Because she was created of me and I am a living being.“

"O Mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam) and from Him (Adam) He created his wife (Eve), and from them both He created many men and women.” (Ch 4:1)

"It is he Who has created you from a single person (Adam) and then He created from him his wife (Eve), in order that he might enjoy the pleasure of living with her.“ (Ch 7:189).

Page 14: Prophet Adam (Pbuh)

The Challenge

Page 15: Prophet Adam (Pbuh)

Allah commanded Adam to dwell in Paradise: "O Adam! Dwell you and your wife in the Paradise and eat both of you freely with pleasure and delight of things therein as wherever you will, but come not near this tree or you both will be of the Zalimeen (wrong doers).“ (Ch 2:35)

Ibliees hates this human being, and he wants to show that he is better than this human being. Because Allah ordered him and the rest of the Angels to prostrate to him but he refused.

Allah also had warned Adam from Ibliees. So Adam (as) had the orders from Allah (aza wa gal) clearly understood.

So Ibliees kept putting pressure on Adam (as) and Hawa (as) for a long time. However, that did not work.

So Ibliees came to them through pleasing Allah. If you go next to that tree and eat from it you will be pleasing Allah; not disobeying him. Ibliees swore to God that if they eat from this tree then they will live in paradise forever or even become like angels, who do not disobey Allah. Satan said to them:

"Your Lord did not forbid you this tree except that you become angels or become of the immortal. And he swore [by Allah ] to them, "Indeed, I am to you from among the sincere advisors." (Ch 7:20-21)

So Adam and Eve (alihoom al salam) ate from the tree. Allah Almighty told us: "So he (Satan) misled them with deception." (Ch 7:22) "Did I not forbid you that tree and tell you: Verily Satan is an open enemy unto you?" They said:

"Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You forgive us not, and bestow not upon us Your Mercy, we shall certainly be of the losers." Allah said; "Get down, one of you an enemy to the other (Adam, Eve, and Satan etc). On earth will be a dwelling place for you and an enjoyment, for a time." He said: "Therein you shall live and therein you shall die, and from it you shall be brought out (resurrected)." (7:22-25).

To Summarize

Allah the Almighty revealed: "Remember when your Lord said to the angels: 'Verily, I am going to place mankind generations after generations on earth.' They said: 'Will You place therein those who will make mischief therein and shed blood, while we glorify You with praises and thanks (exalted be You above all that they associate with You as partners) and sanctify You.' Allah said: 'I know that which you do not know.‘ Allah taught Adam all the names of everything, then He showed them to the angels and said: "Tell Me the names of these if you are truthful." They (angels) said: "Glory be to You, we have no knowledge except what You have taught us. Verily, it is You, the All-Knower, the All-Wise.“ He said: "O Adam! Inform them of their names," and when he had informed them of their names, He said: "Did I not tell you that I know the unseen in the heavens and the earth, and I know what you reveal and what you have been hiding?“ Remember when We said to the angels: "Prostrate yourself before Adam" They prostrated except Iblis, he refused and was proud and was one of the disbelievers(disobedient to Allah).“ We said: "O Adam! Dwell you and your wife in the Paradise and both of you freely with pleasure and delight of things therein as wherever you will but come not near this tree or you both will be of the Zalimeen (wrongdoers).“Then the Satan made them slip therefrom (the Paradise), and got them out from that in which they were. We said: "Get you down all with enmity between yourselves. On earth will be a dwelling place for you and an enjoyment for a time.” Then Adam received from his Lord Words. His Lord pardoned him (accepted his repentance). Verily He is the One Who forgives (accepts repentance), the most Merciful. We said: "Get down all of you from this place (the Paradise), then whenever there comes to you Guidance from Me, and whoever follows My Guidance there shall be no fear on them, nor shall they grieve. But those who disbelieve and belie Our Ayah (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, and signs and revelations, etc) such are the dwellers of the Fire, they shall abide therein forever." (Chapter 2:30-39, Qur'an).

Page 17: Prophet Adam (Pbuh)

Almighty Allah also revealed: "And surely, We created you (your father Adam) and then gave you shape (the noble shape of a human being), then We told the angels, "Prostrate to Adam", and they prostrated, except Iblis, he refused to be those who prostrate. Allah said: "What prevented you (O Iblis) that you did not postrate when I commanded you?“ Iblis said: "I am better than him (Adam), You created me from fire and him You created from clay.“ Allah said: "O Iblis get down from this (Paradise), it is not for you to be arrogant here. Get out for you are of those humiliated and disgraced." Iblis said: "Allow me respite till the Day they are raised up (Day of Resurrection).“ Allah said: "You are of those allowed respite.“ Iblis said: "Because You have sent me astray, surely I will sit in wait against them (human beings) on Your Straight Path. Then I will come to them from before them and behind them, from their right and from their left and You will not find most of them as thankful ones (they will not be dutiful to You).“ Allah said: "Get out from Paradise, disgraced and expelled. Whoever of them (mankind) will follow you, then surely I will fill Hell with you all.“ "And O Adam! Dwell you and your wife in Paradise, and eat thereof as you both wish, but approach not this tree otherwise you both will be of the Zalimeen (unjust and wrongdoers).“ “Then Satan whispered suggestions to them both in order to uncover that which was hidden from them of their private parts before, he said:" Your Lord did not forbid you this tree save you should become angels or become of the immortals.“ Satan swore by Allah to them both saying: "Verily I am one of the sincere well wishers for you both.“ So he misled them with deception. Then when they tasted of the tree, that which was hidden from them of their shame (private parts) became manifest to them and they began to stick together the leaves of Paradise over themselves (in order to cover their shame). Their Lord called out to them saying "Did I not forbid you that tree and tell you, Verily Satan is an open enemy unto you?“ They said: "Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You forgive us not, and bestow not upon us Your Mercy, we shall certainly be of the losers." Allah said: "Get down one of you an enemy to the other (i.e. Adam, Eve, and Satan etc). On earth will be a dwelling place for you and an enjoyment, for a time." He said: "therein you shall live, and therein you shall die, and from it you shall be brought out (resurrected)." (Chapter 7:11-25 Qur'an).

Page 18: Prophet Adam (Pbuh)

Life on Earth

Page 19: Prophet Adam (Pbuh)

I would like to first start off with this verse: "O Children of Adam! Let not Satan deceive you, as he got your parents (Adam and Eve) out of

Paradise stripping them of their rainments; to show them their private parts. Verily he and Qabiluhu (his soldiers from the jinn or his tribe) see you from where you cannot see them. Verily, We made the devils (protectors and helpers) for those who believe not." (Ch 7:27)

Adam knew he bade farewell to peace and he left Paradise. On earth he had to face conflict and struggle. He had to face the wild beasts of earth and to protect his wife. Above all, he had to struggle with the spirit of evil. Satan, the cause of his expulsion from Paradise.

As time went by, Hawa (as) got pregnant many times. Each time she got pregnant, it was twins, a boy and a girl.

All the prophets and messengers came with one religion called Islam. One belief, believing in Allah. But they had different sharia (laws, when it comes to the way of life, to what’s halal and haram) the prophets and the messengers they differed in that.

Every messenger is a prophet, but not all prophets are messengers. Difference between Messenger and Prophet is the messenger, gets a new book, prophet follows the book reveled before them. The Arabic word for messenger is Rasul. Nabi is prophet.

Allah revealed to Adam that the first set of twins should marry to the second set of twins. All the twins were a boy and a girl. So the boy from the first pregnancy gets married to the girl in the second pregnancy; and the girl from the first gets married to the boy from the second.

Allah says in the Quran: “To thee We sent the Scripture in truth, confirming the scripture that came before it, and guarding it in safety: so judge between them by what Allah hath revealed, and follow not their vain desires, diverging from the Truth that hath come to thee. To each among you have we prescribed a law and an open way. If Allah had so willed, He would have made you a single people, but (His plan is) to test you in what He hath given you: so strive as in a race in all virtues. The goal of you all is to Allah; it is He that will show you the truth of the matters in which ye dispute;” (5:48)

Page 20: Prophet Adam (Pbuh)

Qabeel (Cain) & Habeel (Abel)

Page 21: Prophet Adam (Pbuh)

The pinnacle of earthly bliss was reached when Adam and Eve (alihoom al salam) witnessed the birth of their first children, a set of twins.

The twins were Cain (Qabil) and his sister. Later Eve (as) gave birth to a second set of twins, Abel (Habil) and his sister. Qabil’s nature was tough and rough. Habeel was more humble and lean. Cain tilled the land while

Abel raised cattle. The time arrived when the two young men desired life partners. Adam instructed his children according to Allah's command, but Cain was displeased with the

partner chosen for him, for Abel's twin sister was not as beautiful as his own. Ibliees kept increasing hate in his heart towards his brother. Then after sometime, realizing that his hopes marrying his own beautiful sister were fading, he

threatened his brother. "I will kill you! I refuse to see you happy while I remain unhappy!“ Abel feeling sorry for his brother, replied, "It would be more proper for you, my brother to search

for the cause of your unhappiness and then walk in the way of peace. Allah accepts the deeds only from those who serve and fear Him, not from those who reject His Commands.“

“And recite to them the story of Adam's two sons, in truth, when they both offered a sacrifice [to Allah ], and it was accepted from one of them but was not accepted from the other. Said [the latter], "I will surely kill you." Said [the former], "Indeed, Allah only accepts from the righteous [who fear Him]. If you should raise your hand against me to kill me - I shall not raise my hand against you to kill you. Indeed, I fear Allah , Lord of the worlds. Indeed I want you to obtain [thereby] my sin and your sin so you will be among the companions of the Fire. And that is the recompense of wrongdoers.“And his soul permitted to him the murder of his brother, so he killed him and became among the losers. Then Allah sent a crow searching in the ground to show him how to hide the disgrace of his brother. He said, "O woe to me! Have I failed to be like this crow and hide the body of my brother?" And he became of the regretful.” (Chapter 5:27-31)

Page 22: Prophet Adam (Pbuh)

Adam was utterly grief stricken by the loss of his two sons. One was dead, the other was won

over by the devil. Adam prayed for his son and turned to mundane matters for he had to toil for

his sustenance. At the same time he was a prophet advising his children and grandchildren, telling

them about Allah and calling them to believe in Him. He told them about Iblis and warned them

by recounting his own experience with the devil and of how the devil had tempted Cain to kill his

brother.
