Proverbs 19:2 Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.

(NIV) 2 It is not good to have zeal without knowledge, nor to be hasty and miss the way.

Take time to pray, seeking to know God’s Will, and asking for God’s help before you act.

It’s good to have enthusiasm, but be sure you know what God would have you to do.

3 The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.

(NIV) 3 A man's own folly ruins his life, yet his heart rages against the LORD.

Accept responsibility for your own life.

Don’t blame God or anyone else for the troubles you bring upon yourself.

Live with deliberate obedience to God’s Word in the Power of

God’s Holy Spirit.

4 Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbor.

These are fair weather friends; never really friends at all.

Once I lived the life of a millionaire, spendin' my money I didn't care.

I carried my friends out for a good time, buying bootleg liquor, champagne and wine.

When I begin to fall so low, I didn't have a friend and no place to go …

Nobody knows you, when you down and out.Jimmy Cox 1923

5 A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.

God is aware of all sin, and all who choose to live in sin will reap the consequences.

6 Many will entreat the favor of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts.

Be wary of all flattery; the flatterer wants something.

7 All the brethren of the poor (destitute) do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him.

This is how it often is in this world; not how it should be.

Leviticus 19:10 (NIV) Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the alien. I am the LORD your God.

Psalm 41 1 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.

See the difference in the way the world views the poor and the way God sees them.

God cares deeply for the needy, and blesses His people who help those in need.

Help, but don’t enable a wicked lifestyle.

8 He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.

(TLB) 8 He who loves wisdom loves his own best interest and will be a success.

To hate learning is to work against your own best interest and invite failure.

9 A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.

We have heard this before in verse 5.

Lying is a very destructive sin.

Proverbs 8 7 For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

1 Peter 3 10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: 11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
