Pure and Grateful

Paul is at Corinth in Greece, writing to the saints in Rome.

He praysprays without ceasing for them, and gives God thanksthanks for them and their faith.

And he prays that he will have opportunityopportunity and a prosperousprosperous

journey to visit them.

Romans 1:11 For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; 12 That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.

We should be always eager to impartimpart to others that with whichwith which God has blessed us.

"To the end ye may be established."

Paul waswas well established in his walk with the Lord.

ThereforeTherefore, he could help others.

We can only shareshare what we have firstfirst received.

We should readily impart to others what God has trusted to us, rejoicing to make others joyful, especiallyespecially taking pleasure in communing with those who believe the same things with us.

Our greatest pleasurepleasure should be talking about God's Way of livingGod's Way of living and the blessingsblessings of it.

Not always a debatedebate; an agreeableagreeable discussion, because we believebelieve the same thngs.

Romans 15 5-6 Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another accordingaccording to Christ Jesus: That ye may with one mindone mind and one mouthone mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We don't glorify God when we fuss and argue.

We glorify God when we agree with Jesusagree with Jesus, throughthrough The Word of GodThe Word of God.

If I agree with JesusJesus, and you agree with JesusJesus, then we agree with one anotherone another.

Whose company we most enjoy is a good standardgood standard for measuring ourselves in our walk with God.

Paul was preventedprevented from going to Rome to that time,

Because he was busy doingdoing the Lord's Will.

14 I am debtordebtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.

Paul didn't owe moneymoney, and wasn't hindered from the Lord's Will by that kindthat kind of debt.

God had given him a jobjob to do:

Take the GospelGospel to all kinds of people.

He owed them allall that ministry.

He wouldwould get to Rome eventually.

Do you feel the weightweight of that kind of debt?

We owe our Lord our best effortbest effort in His service.

We owe people the benefitbenefit of our gifts.

15 So, as much as in me isas much as in me is, I am readyI am ready to preach the Gospel to you that are at Rome also.

Let's joinjoin the Apostle Paul today in that kind of commitmentkind of commitment.

With allall that in me is -- allall my heart and soul,

With allall my time and strength and energy,

Will allall my abilities and gifts from God,

Isaiah 6 8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
