of light against distant

windows,

and air crisp and clean,in the morning’s freshness-we awake to the infinite beauty of another day.

Yet wrapped within its unlived moments of delight, laughter, productivity, blisslay this -the ragged, sharp, destructive shrapnelof another’s broken dream.

The window’s smooth, consistent paneserupt like tearsand shards of light –falling,

falling,falling –

carve their courses on the hearts of lovers, children, parents, friends, on the hearts of a nation, the hearts of a world.

May we learn to live boldly in the love that is fear’s constant target –its only sure and eternal defeat.
