Now that you know what Chi Alpha is, I want to take you on a quick

journey of why Chi Alpha exists, what we’re doing, and how you can help

make a difference.

Imagine……Imagine a country where 50-70% of all students raised in Christian homes abandon their faith after high school, creating a church that is slowly bleeding to death.

Imagine……Imagine a country where students come from all over the world to learn how to become tomorrow’s leaders, and yet never learn of the hope they can find in Jesus.

Imagine……Imagine a country that is considered the 3rd largest unreached nation in the world, surpassed only by China and India…

No need to imagine- this is modern-day America.

That’s why we believe the US college campus is the most strategic mission field there is:

The opportunity to invest into the future of our world and

the future of the church, right in our own backyard…

Mission Field that you can reach?

We Need to Protect Our Students

You might find it hard to believe that 70% of students who attended church abandon their faith in college.

Have our youth groups and parents failed? I don’t think so.

I think students arrive on campus feeling absolutely alone, and they want to belong somewhere, even if it means compromise. Before they know it, the faith they once knew has deteriorated.

But a group like Converge gives them a place to belong, and the results can make you see why we NEED to protect our students…

We Need to Reach the Unreached

Another reason we believe the college campus is so strategic is the vast numbers of students who have no real knowledge of the Gospel.

At a time when students are plagued by loneliness; when they are seeking real answers to huge questions; and trying to determine the purpose of their life, we have an opportunity to step in and share Christ.

Also, these students crave community and friendship. Converge reaches people through a method we tagged “Belong; Believe; Become”. Every student needs a place to belong. We hope that as we welcome them into our group, they will come to explore the beliefs of Christianity, and become passionate followers of Jesus.

And why UWO?

Out of 14,000 Students, only about 3% are involved in any kind of ministry or church!

If you think about it, the world’s future politicians, teachers, doctors, business leaders, directors, authors, actors, musicians, engineers, etc. are being trained in our Universities.-So you don’t like the kind of music they’re coming out with these days? You don’t like the political policies they’re drafting? You don’t like the movies they’re making these days? For that to change, then we gotta reach the university!

Building the Future of America and the World

If you think about it, our nation’s future politicians, lawyers, business leaders, entrepreneurs, musicians, directors, actors, teachers, doctors, nurses, engineers, authors, etc. are being trained in our universities.

So, you don’t like the kind of movies they make these days? You don’t like the political policies they’re drafting? You aren’t impressed with the music they’re coming out with? You want to change it?

Then we need to reach the university!

And whether we like it or not, these students will determine the future of the

American church!

Building the Future of America and the World

Not only that, but 40% of the world’s political leaders are sending their students to our universities, where they will be trained to go back and lead their nations.

This is a tremendous opportunity to fulfill the Great Commission! See…

Students from countries that are closed to the Gospel are coming to our universities where we can freely share with them the good news of Jesus!

Then we can send them back to their countries where they will become the most influential people in their nations!

Take Agaila for example. Agaila is from the displaced nation of Western Sahara and goes to UWO. After accepting Jesus, she decided she needed to go to the UN to petition of behalf of her people, and Converge helped her get there. Political experts predict that Agaila will become the first female president of her nation!

Results-We’ve sent out 8 students to pursue fulltime ministry!-We have hosted the largest event ever to happen on the campus of UWO, where 4200 students heard the Gospel!-We have sent about 50 students on short-term missions trips-We have plugged over 100 students into a local church!

The point is, God has done some incredible things in this ministry!

But even though God has done some incredible things, we still have many more students to reach, and we need your help!

Think of it this way…

It’s like we’re in a Tug O War with the Darkness, and we need a lot more people on our team!
