Basic Hunting Safety Tips By David Psimer
Introduction
With decades of experience building multifamily housing and other kinds of commercial properties, David Psimer currently owns DP Builders and serves as the company’s chief executive officer. During his time off, David Psimer enjoys playing golf and hunting.
When you go hunting, whether for food or for sport, there are a number of precautions you should take to ensure that the outing is a fun, safe experience.
Hunting Tips
- Take a gun safety course. Handling a gun properly is the first and most important way to stay safe while hunting. Some courses also teach gun cleaning and maintenance, an essential step to keep firearms in working order year round.
- Wear hunter orange. Although not required by law in every state, wearing bright hunter orange clothing makes you visible to other hunters and less likely to be mistaken for a deer or another target animal. Hunter orange is also virtually invisible to game animals, maximizing its safety and effectiveness.
Conclusion
- Don’t overexert yourself. Whether hunting on foot or from a tree stand, make sure you’re ready for the physical aspect of the activity. Walking or hiking regularly can keep your heart and lungs healthy and helps ensure that you don’t get tired out and lose focus or have an accident.
