Nigeria Beach Soccer League: Development & Promotion 2

INTRODUCTION: CBN Beach Soccer Challenge Cup 2012 The maiden edition of CBN Beach Soccer Challenge Cup organized by Sports Solutions Limited (SSL) in collaboration with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and supported by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) with the donation of the championship trophy. The tournament which was open to the public free, made its debut at the Abuja Jabi Lake Park featuring four teams: Sterling Bank plc, Lords Fc, Fidelity Bank Plc & Sports Solutions Fc took the challenge with Fidelity Bank clinging the prestigious CBN trophy.

THE EVENT The 3day Championship presented a beach soccer clinic on the 1st day which witnessed a positive turnout by enthusiastic youths and the general public, while the 2nd & 3rd days showcased the championship matches which recorded a total of 49 spectacular goals in four fast paced beach soccer matches with an unprecedented increase on the spectator’s attendance. The event which was administered by two FIFA badged beach soccer referees (Suleiman Jimata & Sani Mohammad), two NFF referees (Kamadi Jibrin, Peter Bwamba), one NFF referee assessor (Sunday Ekele) and witnessed by Okayi Sunday a FIFA Beach Soccer instructor was a success.

BEACH SOCCER CHALLENGE CUP 2013 Plans for the second edition of the 2013 Beach Soccer Challenge Cup already in progress and promises to be bigger and better.
