Gender:All the of the characters are females however not all three of them are represented as stereotypical females.

The protagonist is shown to have some stereotypical female characteristics as she is shown to be emotional due to her friends death. Also as she is taking a laundry basket to a laundrette shows some domestic work.

However, the mother seems to be not as stereotype due to the fact she seems self-centred, smokes & drinks. These are factors which are usually not expecting from a female, instead from a male. This is because smoking & drinking signify violence, something unusual for women.

For the dead character at first it’s not possible to say if they’re represented as a stereotypical female or not. This is a good thing because it keeps a good interest to the audience, as they will be wondering what kind of character she is.
