Makaha Skateboards were the first skateboards produced. The company started in 1963 and were designed to look like surfboards.

In 1975 Dogtown skateboards was started in Santa Monica California. The art of Wes Humpston was the first commercially placed on boards.

It Came From the 80’s

World Industries founding in1987 begins the modern era. Plan B, Girl, Chocolate, Blind, Stereo, Krooked, Darkstar, Enjoi, and Almost all owe their founding to Flame boy (sort of).
