Bouncing on a

trampoline can be a

fun and healthy

activity for the

whole family if all

safety rules are

followed properly. A

lot of people are apprehensive about buying

trampolines because of the risks involved. However, if

accompanied by the right safety measures and

accessories, you can maximise your family bonding time

without worrying about having injuries.

There are different types of accessories available in the

market. You can choose based on the size, type of

safety they provide, and other form of protection from

different elements.

Safety Netting

The safety netting is the most popular safety accessory

used today. It is designed to prevent the user from

falling off when jumping on a trampoline. Safety nets

should be used every time your bouncing equipment is

placed near the patios, fences, or trees. This enclosure

can give you a peace of mind that your children will be

far from having injuries while they are bouncing away.

Mats

These mats are usually made from synthetic materials

that make them elastic even when they are placed and

stored outdoors in inclement weather. However, you

need to keep in mind that you always need to check for

your mats for any signs of wear and tear. If you find that

its rings are coming off or it is losing its stitching, then

you must replace your mat immediately. General wear

can greatly affect the safety and the quality of jumps of

the users.

Springs

Springs are the most important parts of spring-based

trampolines. The greater tension and stronger the

springs are, the greater bounce you will get. Most

springs are covered with galvanized metal to keep them

from getting rusty when they are stored outdoors. Since

these springs are important aspects of your trampoline,

you should learn when is the best time to replace them

if you want to have the best bouncing and safety. Even

if your springs are made from galvanized metal, they

will still get weak and overstretched over time. So make

sure that your springs are still in good condition before

you use your trampolines.

Pads

A lot of trampoline accidents occur when the user

collides with the metal frame or exposed springs. This

can result to bruises, scratches, or fractures. These pads

are used as a protective covering to enclose the metal

frames of your bouncing contraption. A good pad is

made of high density, closed-cell foam that can make

them shock absorbent.

Ladders

The main purpose of ladders is to assist smaller kids

who want to get on the trampoline. Most

manufacturers produce weather proof ladders and

some are made of plastics or metals. You need to keep

in mind that adult supervision is a must when these

ladders are being used.

Just like many things in

life, a well-maintained

trampoline is the

safest of its kind.

Whether it is being

used improperly or

you left them

outdoors in inclement weather, the quality of your

trampoline will deteriorate. That’s why understanding

basic trampoline maintenance is very important to

every owner who wishes to extend the life of this fun

bouncing equipment.

So here are some simple ways on how to take care of

your trampolines:

Location

Ascertain that you place your bouncing equipment in a

location where you can use it more conveniently to

avoid moving it around. Changing its location regularly

may loosen its connection and could be the reason of

the weakening of its joints. Its frames are already

getting a lot of stress and moving it around can greatly

add to the stress that it is already undergoing.

Weather Protection

One way to make trampolines long lasting and durable

is to spray them with a UV protectant spray that you

can purchase on most automotive supply stores. Since

your outdoor bouncing contraption is always exposed

to the scorching heat of the sun, this UV protectant

spray can be of great help to protect them from the

extreme heat.

Another way that can help you prolong the life of your

trampolines is a weather cover. A weather cover would

do the trick especially during extreme weather

conditions like in winter. A lot of harmful items and

debris may fall on your trampoline that can harm it and

this is minimised by a weather cover. If your trampoline

is placed outdoors, it is advisable to remove the mat

and store it inside your home for maximum protection.

Parts Maintenance

• Springs

Make sure that these important parts are not

becoming rusted and worn overtime. It is

necessary that you keep the springs well-oiled

so they can still be responsive whenever you

and your family will use it. If you notice that

they have become bent or stretched in any way,

it is a good idea to have them replaced as soon

as possible.

• Mats

If your mat got ripped, patch or sew it up if the

rip is very minimal. However, if there is

considerable damage, you need to replace it

with a new one. When cleaning your mats,

never use harmful chemicals or cleaning agents.

Use a sponge dipped in warm and soapy water

to give it a good scrub down.

We all love our trampolines. It is a great tool for

exercise and fun with the family. If we take care of it

properly, our trampolines can serve their purpose for

many years to come. So for you to save up on extra

expenses and maximise the usage of this bouncing

equipment, you need to take care of it properly so that

this equipment can be still on its perfect working

condition in many years to come.

Are you one of those

people who, no matter

what age you are, get

crazy when they see a

trampoline? You are

not alone in this regard.

A lot of folks truly love

playing and exercising on a trampoline. Most of us have

vivid happy memories from our childhood about the

happy times we had on it.

This happiness carries on till today and these

trampolines didn’t get shelved. They are still one of

today’s premier recreation devices and if you have a

family of your own, it is good to have in your backyard

too. Not only will it strengthen your family bond

because of the joy it could bring the whole family but it

can be a form of exercise tool too, which is really lacking

in today’s generation.

And as we have established, it is very fun bouncing on

this piece of equipment and everyone is quite fond of

jumping up and down on it. Chances are you need to

have to clean and maintain the device weekly and it can

be quite a drag. Still, if you have a set of steps to follow,

some guidelines of sort, the task will not be as hard at it

seems. The other option of just disregarding and not

cleaning the trampoline will pose lots of problems in the

long run, accidents or skin rashes might appear and you

won’t want them on your kids.

These 5 simple steps can and will make your trampoline

looking and feeling new every time you clean it up:

• Always sweep the surroundings of your

trampoline. The setup will most always be on

the garden or backyard so this is only logically

the first step always. Do so with the mat and

everything else around and on the trampoline

that needs sweeping.

• Cleaning away the dirt that can cling to the

trampoline is the next step. Get those brushes

and scour patches and get to work. These little

bits of dirt can eventually grow big and

stubborn, so better cut their growth as soon as

possible.

• Get cleaning agents at the ready and make a

mixture that will clean bacteria and dirt of the

trampoline.

• Blast the scrubbed and brushed trampoline

with strong currents of water. The added

pressure of the water will clean up anything

that is well hidden on the device. Those spots

that are hard to reach can be bombarded with

strong currents to easily get cleaned up too.

• Wipe the trampoline dry. The sooner it gets

dry the better. If the sun is up, get the

trampoline in a position that it gets the sun’s

rays too.

Along with the fun that it can bring, we should all be

responsible enough to clean and maintain our

trampolines.
