8- Mobile solar-powered

computer classrooms in Africa

foldable desks and

chairs, an Internet router,

low-wattage netbooks

and a robust tent are

carried on a 4X4 vehicle

so that classrooms can

be set up in remote

areas of Uganda.

9- Radiophones

to teach children basic literacy

This tech combines the local community-radio and

telephone-based systems to give marginalized children in

India basics of literacy, numeracy and hygiene.

To attract listeners, the content is based on the Indian

version of Sesame Street. 1.4 million benefited from this

free service to date.
