FIND & FOLLOW FRIENDS
Finding friends on Snapchat is not straight-
forward like Facebook. Although there are
several built-in options like:
•Add by username
•Add from Address Book
•Add by Snapcode
•Add Nearby
You can ask your friend their username
and search in the search bar after tapping
on the “Add by Username” option .

INTERESTS NEARBY
One GREAT perk of the Snapchat app is
its location-based feature which allows
users to follow people near your location
and share stories with them. This can be
of immense help if you want to find
people near your location who share
similar interests or at least, are interested
in your product or services.

CROSS PROMOTE ON OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS
Cross-promotion is another cool way to get
followers on any social media platform. Just like
you ask your Facebook friends or Google+ circle
to follow you on Twitter or Instagram, you may
do a similar shout-out for your Snapchat
account.
One way to do that is to create a graphic with a
caption asking users to follow you on Snapchat.
Don’t forget to tell them what they should expect
from you once they follow you.

TEASE CONTENT ON SOCIAL
MEDIA CHANNELS
Tease content on your other social channels that is exclusively available on Snapchat. I wouldn’t post 20+ pictures in a day, but I will post on Snapchat 10+ times in one day to tell a story—so let followers know that there is more behind-the-scenes to your posts.

CREATE GIVEAWAYS &
CONTESTS
Giveaways, contests, offering discounts, coupons and the like are very effective ways to get more engagement and if conducted right, can boost your sales: •Help donate to good cause on Snapchat •Run a scavenger hunt •Host a Quick Themed Photo Contest
DON’T BE
BORING!
DON’T BE BORING!
If people are coming to your account for photos and videos your frowny-looking dog, you probably don’t want to throw in a picture of your morning latte. But giving the people what they want doesn’t have to mean posting the same photos and videos over and over and over. Happy followers = more recommendations.

FOLLOW OTHERS
If you want people to follow you, then you’re going to have to follow them. This is a simple rule of reciprocation that is common on all social media formats. So, instead of just uploading photos and videos and expecting people to come to you, you also have to put yourself out there. In other words, you have to be active.

PROMOTE YOUR SNAPCODE
Your Snapcode is like a QR code you can scan to add new friends faster. You can find it tapping on the little ghost at the top of your screen once you open Snapchat. You can download this code and add it to your email signatures and business cards.

REPURPOSE SNAPCHAT
CONTENT
While your content will only live on Snapchat
for a day, who says it ever has to disappear?
Some people may see Snapchat’s “24 hour”
shelf life as a disadvantage, but it can be a
great opportunity to repurpose your content
and really get creative on YouTube, Facebook,
Twitter etc. Saving your Snapchat story as
individual photos/videos or one all-in-one
video will allow you to share your content
even if they are not yet following you on
Snapchat.
