The first thing I did with this picture was to crop it using the crop tool. I did this to enhance the rule of thirds effect. This tool enabled me to crop out unnecessary parts of the picture like the wall and the window.

I wanted to bring the colours in the picture out more and so to do this I clicked on Image>Adjustments>Brightness/Contrast. This made the image a whole lot sharper than before, but the image could be improved still.

To enhance the colours even more I changed the levels of the picture by clicking on Image>Adjustments>Levels. I increased the white in the picture and decreasing the darker colours, bringing an interesting final picture.

In this image I wanted to make the fist the focal point standing out against the rest of the picture. To do this I had to make the fist a lot bigger, removing the background of the walls which was unnecessary. I did this using the crop tool. I cropped out all the excess background of the walls, this enlarged the fist making it a much more interesting picture to fit my brochure.

Just like the previous image I enhanced the colours by increasing the Contrast on the ‘Brightness/Contrast tool’. As well as making the picture more colourful by enhancing the white in levels.

It is important that the pictures were edited in the same way to achieve consistency amongst my pictures. I wanted to keep the same colours amongst the picture such as the redness in his cheeks as this is important in making my brochure look professional. I decided to add a dry brush filter to this picture to make the background seem more blurry, it is a minor change but one which was effective.

Similar to the previous photographs I cropped out any unnecessary background to make the model look bigger but with keeping the rule of third effects. This picture would be covering two pages of my brochure.

Changing the levels made the background much more brighter and more interesting as if there is a bright future ahead for the athlete. To do this I raised the white levels and lowered the grey levels similar to the previous two photographs.

Like the previous photographs I used the brightness/contrast tool to improve the contrast bringing out the colours of the model and background.

I added a dark strokes filter to make his eyes dark making him more mysterious and it brought out the intensity in his skin.

The main aim for this photograph was to successfully remove the non smoking sign from the background. To do this I used the clone stamp tool, pressed alt and select a similar section to replace it. I had to keep doing this process in small bits at a time to make it seem realistic.

Here is the progression I made when editing out the non smoking sign until eventually it had disappeared.

Now that the non smoking sign was removed I focused on changing the contrast to raise the colour of the character. I wanted to remove the bright light in the background of the picture but using the brightness tool but was to difficult to do. I also attempted to use the levels tool to remove some of the bright lighting but would make the black background look strange.

This picture was a storyboard motion of him throwing a punch, this picture is the model about to throw the punch. I wanted to really expose the brightness on this image to make it different from the previous photographs. Also the models face is dark so I wanted to brighten it up.

I changed the levels so background and models t-shirt was very bright. This created an interesting effect unlike the other photographs.

I also added a black strokes filter on to the picture, bringing out the detail of the model’s face.
