Android is a mobile operating system(OS) based onthe Linux kernel and currently developed by Google,With a user interface based on direct manipulation.

Android is designed primarily for touch screenmobile devices such as smart phones and tabletcomputers.

Origin of Android ?

It was founded by Andy Rubin(employee ofGoogle) in 2003, in a place called Palo Alto inCalifornia.

Later, it was purchased by Google in August

2005.

Android mobile operating system began with the release of the Android beta inNovember 2007. The first commercial version, Android 1.0, was released in September2008. Since then it has worked on Alphabetically literally!

Released on October 31, 2013. Wireless printing capability Wi-Fi and mobile data activity (TX/RX) indicators are

moved to quick settings.

Android "Lollipop", or simply "Android L", is thelatest version of the Android mobile operating systemdeveloped by Google , spanning versions between 5.0and 5.1.

One of the most prominent changes in the Lollipoprelease is a redesigned user interface built around adesign language referred to as "material design".

Other changes include improvements to thenotifications.

Google also made internal changes to the platform,with the Android Runtime (ART) officially replacingDalvik for improved application performance.

Android L enhanced the notifications as they will display on the Lock Screen.If one can easily swipe it away or can double tap to open the relevant app.

Android L has the new Lock Screen which shows the notifications.

As Google mentioned that securityis the key factor for android users.

The best example is the unlockingthe Smartphone by using the AndroidWear smartWatch.
