Make sure the Edit Mode is set to ON Set the Edit Mode to Off to see what the site

looks like to students◦ Menu items that do not contain anything will not

be displayed

Make the course name more descriptive & make the class available1. In the Control Panel, click

on Customization to expand the item

2. In the expanded options, select Properties.

3. In the content frame #1, change the Class Name to a more descriptive title.

4. In the content frame #3, change the Set Availability to Yes, then click Submit.

1. Click on Staff Information menu option

2. In the content frame, click on Create Contact

3. Fill in the required fields, then click Submit

After deciding which menu items you want, you can◦ rename

◦ hide/show

◦ set access to, or

◦ delete an item

Use descriptive names and to avoid redundancy◦ e.g. having both “Course Materials” and “Course

Documents” is confusing

1. Click the down arrows on a menu item and select desired action

2. Arrange the menu items in the order you want by clicking the icon on the left of the menu item and dragging to the desired position.

1. Click on the Announcements menu item

2. In the main Content Frame, click on Create Announcement

3. Follow the steps in the Content Frame

◦ Pay special attention to Web Announcement Options

4. Click Submit

1. Select the menu item under which you want to post content

◦ For course syllabus, select the Syllabus menu item

2. In the main content frame, hover over the Build Content tab

3. Select the type of content you want to upload4. Follow the instructions in the content frame5. Click Submit

1. Click on the Tools menu item

2. Select the Calendar link in the main content frame

3. Switch to desired view4. Click Create Class

the main content frame6. Click Submit

1. In the Control Panel, click on Users and Groups to expand the item, then click on Users

2. Click on Find Users to Enroll

3. Follow the directions in the main content frame

◦ Most will have the role of Student

4. Click Submit

1. In the Control Panel, click on Users and Groups to expand the item, then click on Users

2. Find the user you want to remove in the list, then click the checkbox next to the username

3. Click on Remove Users from Class4. Answer Ok to the warning that the action is

final

Two ways1. After logging into

Blackboard, click on Help Using FCPS 24-7 Learning in the Quick Links for Staff Module

2. If you are working in a class, click on Help in the Control Panel
