A site that you create for discussion and/or information purposes.
You can invite others to join, read and comment on your blog.
You can invite others to help you manage your blog.
As a blogger you are free to post almost anything (images, recipes, how tos, videos, music, prose, poetry).

How is a blog an effective tool in the classroom?
You can create a class blog where the syllabus, course assignments, class agenda, student accomplishments, and review information are posted.
You can create a school literary blog where student work is posted (with parent and student permission) from poetry to creative non-fiction to short stories.
You can create group blogs where students collaborate on-line for group projects/reading groups/discussions.
Advantages
Information can be given and discussions can be had efficiently.
Learning can be accomplished through several mediums and styles (auditory and visual).
It’s free and easy to use!
Disadvantages
Comments can be made on blogs. Some amount of censorship is needed, especially if it becomes a classroom tool.
Parent permission must be had before blogger can be used.
Students need to be taught how to navigate and use blogger correctly and responsibly.
