Electric Car Advantages• Emit no CO2• Out of these 4 cars every 25 miles costs at most

$1.05• Able to refuel at any outlet• Electricity is a renewable resource• Relatively cheap• Less reliance on fossil fuels

Page 7: Cars of the future

Necessary infrastructure• Electrical companies will need to upgrade

their grids• Electrical companies will need to watch for

clusters of electric vehicles• Charging stations with 240-volt outlets• Faster methods of charging will need to be

developed

Electric Car Disadvantages

• Many changes will be needed in infrastructure• Many people are reluctant to them• Cross country travel will not be as easy

because of charging• Batteries do not last very long• Generating electricity can generate CO2

Page 9: Cars of the future

Governmental Role• Governmental loans to electric car developers• Offer incentives to electric care developers• Promote electric cars• Use electric cars for governmental jobs• Enforce car safety regulations

My Future Alternative Fuel Car

I would drive an all electric battery car such as a Tesla Model S. My reasons are simple. Electric cars usually have the cheapest fuel prices and gas prices will most likely be much higher in 10 years. As a result of increased gas prices hybrids may not be as practical. Hydrogen vehicles will most likely not be advanced enough in 10 years for consumer use nor will the infrastructure be. Another reason is my car will be full of fuel every morning which will save me time. Also electric cars do not release any CO2 into the atmosphere.
