2. A computer isnt very smart
A computer cannot work anything out for itself
A programmer must tell it exactly what to do
In intimate, precise, painstaking detail
And if you get any part of that wrong they dont work as required
However, once we have told a computer what to do correctly, it can do it over and over millions of times and get it right every time.
3. But people are smart
A person can work things out for themself
A person can take a vague idea and work out the rest without needing a program to be written
Even if a person makes a mistake they can realise their error and find a way to fix it
However, people arent very good at repetitive stuff.
We change things
We lose interest
We make mistakes, and
We forget things
A person CANNOT do something over and over millions of times and get it right every time.
People are, in a sense, unreliable (at least when it comes to doing repetitive stuff.)

The problem is:

We want computers to do the creative work-it-out stuff like a person
We want computers to do the repetitive stuff like a computer
So while we want to give computers SOME of the abilities that people have, we do not want to give them all of the traits that people have
In order to make computers smarter, we have to reproduce at least some aspects of how the human mind works, working inside a computer...
