Geographic situation

In Granollers there are a lot of beautiful places, so it‟s a great city to visit.

Granollers has got approximately 59,953 habitants. It is the capital of

Vallès Oriental, it‟s 15km from the sea. It‟s surrounded by the river

Congost and the mountains: Montseny, Berti, Gallifa, Forrell, Céllecs and

Sant Bartomeu. And also by these cities: Les Franqueses del

Vallès, Canovelles, Parets, Montmeló, Montornès, La Roca del

Vallès, Vilanova del Vallès, Lliçà de Vall and Lliçà d‟Amunt.

In Granollers we have a lot of tourists. The Montseny is probably the place

which has got more tourists, but another place that has got a lot of

tourists is the Serra of Montnegre.

The climate is warm because the inversion is protected by the maritime

influence of the surrounding mountains.

Granollers is 10km far from Sabadell airport and 32km from Barcelona

Port, which is modern and convenient.

Parc Puig De Forks

This park of 32,000m2 is located in Serra deLlevant (Eastern Range) on the edge of theurbanized area between the neighbourhoodof Fountain Green and industrial Ramassar.The small elevation of the site and itsgeographical location allow us to enjoymagnificent views of the city of Granollers.

Parc del Lledoner

Lledoner park consists of three parks. Ithas a large lake surrounded by trees,there is also a pathway are many childrenplaying and running and people withbikes. There is a place for dogs too.

Parc Ramassar

It is a park on boys and girls can go to playfootball, chat and meet more friends.Next tothe park there is a square on grandparentsgo to feed birds.Sometimes people celebratebirthday parties.You can have a lot of fun.We recommend going to evening.

Parc Torras Villà

The Torras Villà park is the oldest in the city, more than 30 years old. With over

21,200m2, it is the largest public green space. The main features of this park

are its central situation fully and variety of trees (over 100 species). It also

includes an open amphitheatre and a central play area.

Origin: The idea of a botanical park a long way from the hand of Naturalist

Antoni Jonch Cuspinera, who opposed it through a speech at the Centre for the

Study of the Cultural Association of Granollers 1995. The project was stopped

because although he had intended to make a park in the city, do not know

exactly where. Finally, the decision was made to make the park, although not

based on the original idea, but on a project written by Municipal Barangé-

Puchades.

CAN CABANYES

It is a natural area in the south of Granollers. That namecomes from the farm that was in the field. Can Cabanyesis a green industrial park and its ecological restorationwas driven Granollers City Council as part of a projectfinanced by Cohesion Fund of the European Union toclose former waste dump Palou and restore the rivergorge river environment. The area is listed by the plan asa special interest area Granollers municipal ENIM and hasbeen included as part of the River Gorge area in theNatura 2000 network.

There are three sources inside a forest in the

mountains of Ponent. There is a fountain too.

RIU CONGOST

The Congost is a river basin “Besós”. It is born in “la font

del Regàs”, of water from the western cliffs of the “Plana de

Vic” at the bottom of “Sant Cugat de Gavadons” on the land

formed by sandstone and marl. In total, the Congost is 41

kilometres long. Usually the months of March, May and

September is when falls more water, setting highs in

August. In the river, there are lots of animals. Some of

them are: pit-roig, blauet, rossinyol bord, polla d‟aigua,

garsa, ànec collverd, gavina vulgar and me mediterrania,

faisà vulgar and bernat pescaire.

MONTNEGRE

The park Montnegre, situated on the mountain

range between the Maresme and Vallès

Oriental, has an area of approximately 15,000h.

Man settled in these mountains in ancient times.

Vegetation: The geographical location affects the

climate and vegetation of these mountains.

Fauna: The variety of environments conducive that

the animal population is diverse and abundant.

MONTSENY

It is located in the Catalan pre-coastal mountain

range, which is the most massive. Three major sets

up the mountain massif: the crest of the „‟Turó de

l‟home‟‟(1706m), Matagalls (1697m) and Pla de la

calma,Puig Drau (1344m) wich, togheter by Sant

Marçal necks and Collformic respectively encircle

upstream Tordera.
