Create a Diigo avatar

Add Basic Information

Add some basic information or elect to skip

Find Friends (recommend that you skip this step to keep things simple)

Activate Your Account

Diigo will send you an e-mail requesting that you click on a link to verify your account

Note: check for your activation email. Look in your bulk folder if you don't see it in your inbox. Click to resend if you don't receive it, or email info@diigo.com for help

After activating your account, you will be invited to install the Diigolet (or Toolbar for advanced users)

Diigolet

Diigolet is a “bookmarklet" that allows you to highlight and add sticky-notes, in addition to simple bookmarking. It works for all major browsershttp://www.diigo.com/tools/diigolet

How to install Diigolet

Firefox & Safari Setup: Drag the link to your Links Toolbar (aka "Bookmark Bar" in Safari, "Bookmarks Toolbar" in Firefox

Internet Explorer: Right-click one of the links above and select "Add to Favorites". A Security Alert dialogue will warn you that the link may be unsafe, click "Yes"(don't worry, it's safe!) and then select to create the page in the "Links" of your Favorites.

Annotating with Diigolet

Enable Diigolet

Click the Diigolet tab Diigo menu bar appears

Sign in to add annotations

Add highlight

Use mouse to select a block of text Highlight menu appears >> Click “Highlight” to finish

Once text is highlighted, it will turn yellow

Add sticky note & follow-on comment Once highlight added, mouse-over to add

sticky note

Select privacy (private, public or shared to a specific group), add your comment and save

Add reply comment by “Actions >> Add sticky note

Viewing annotations

Mouse over a particular highlight and the associated sticky note appears

Or, click “Comment” on the Diigolet menu andall annotations ofthis page are shown. Click “Jump to” to open up a particular sticky note window
