Dubrovnik is a Croatian city on the Adriatic Sea, in the region of Dalmatia. According to CNNGo, Dubrovnik is among the 10 best preserved medieval walled cities in the world. Onofrio Large Fountain (Onofrijeva Fontana) 歐諾佛大噴泉Originally constructed in 1438 by Italian architect Onofrio della Cava, the fountain was partially damaged in the 1667 earthquake and further during the war in 1992 (although it was rapidly restored). Dubrovnik walls (910.584 visitors in 2014) run almost 2 km (1.24 mi) around the city. The walls run from four to six meters (13.2 to 19.8 feet) thick on the landward side but are much thinner on the seaward side.No visit to Dubrovnik would be complete without a walk around the spectacular city walls, the finest in the world and the city's main claim to fame. From the top, the view over the old town and the shimmering Adriatic is sublime. In order to save energy, you had better walk in an counterclockwise direction. Remember to pack a hat and sun cream.

Built on the site of a 7th-century basilica, Dubrovnik's original cathedral was enlarged in the 12th century, supposedly funded by a gift from England’s King Richard I, the Lionheart, who was saved from a shipwreck on the nearby island of Lokrum. Soon after the first cathedral was destroyed in the 1667 earthquake, work began on this, its baroque replacement, which was finished in 1713.

The 31-metres high bell tower, built in 1444, is one of the symbols of the city of Dubrovnik. It was built by the local architects Grubačević, Utišenović and Radončić. It was rebuilt in 1929 as it had lost its stability through an earthquake and was in danger of falling. The brass face of the clock shows the phases of the moon. Two human figures strike the bell every hour.

It stands in the middle of Luža Square. Orlando (Roland) statues were typical symbols of city autonomy. Its forearm was for a long time the unit of measure in Dubrovnik, one Ell (measure of length used mainly for textiles) of Dubrovnik equals 51.2 cm.
