• Many cheetah cubs have not been reaching adult age because they have been preyed on by other carnivores. (i.e.: lions and hyenas)• Farmers kill them for attacking their

livestock.• Cheetahs are main target or poaching (illegal

• Habitat of the cheetah (open lands), is being taken away by humans

• There is only one type of cheetah left. Originally there were 5 types, but four

out of these five are now extinct.• Humans have killed off the small

antelope that the cheetah usually hunts for food.

What is being done about the endangerment of cheetahs?

• There are special breeding programs to help to keep the cheetahs continue to repopulate• There are wildlife reserves where cheetahs

roam• Livestock farmers are being educated about

how to prevent cheetahs from preying on their livestock

What is being done about the endangerment of cheetahs?• There are anti-poaching laws in many countries across the world where cheetah

population is normally high.• News and media share numbers and

information regarding the cheetah population to keep the world up to date on

their condition.

What can an individual do to help prevent the

• Donate to non-profit organizations for cheetahs• Donate to charities that help endangered

animals• Work at a zoo, where cheetahs may live and

endangered animals and cheetah for school. • Watch the new and learn about the progress of
