The value of this assignmentThis assignment forced me to step outside my comfort zone and explore the world of information technology. By reading the book and materials for this class I have learned a great deal about different IT terms/topics, but this assignment showed me how IT is formulated in the working world. It was interesting to see all the different career paths information technology can lead to. I was also forced to do my own research for certain terms/responsibilities listed on the different job ads, as they werent all terms discussed in this class. I think the project serves a good learning purpose and as good practice regarding job searching/career development. However the jobs I researched are not exactly on my career path as a Business Administration major. I chose to focus on IT jobs in the retail industry in order to best apply or relate to the information I researched, since most of my work experience is in retail.
