Local sustainable energy ‘Do Tank’.Not for profit.

Our job is to fix unsustainable energy: fuel poverty, energy security and climate change. We try to do this in ways that improve places

economically, socially and environmentally.

What’s the problem with energy?What can businesses do to get a grip on energy cost? Are renewable technologies the answer?What should a business focus on first - behaviourchange, energy efficiency or low carbon technologies?What is the Green Deal and is it a good thing for businesses.Richard’s talk will cover the big issues, technologies, behavioural change, monitoring and targeting and whether to go for the Green Deal.

85% of existing houses will be standing in 2050

Government commitment to reduce emissions by 80% by 2050 (25% of emissions from housing).

895,342 homes across Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire – most do not meet thermal targets.

We need to be retrofitting 24,200 homes a year or 465 per week across N&D.

For Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire this is a

£370 – 500 million per annum market.

Between 12,062 and 16,300 jobs will be created or supported by this level of investment.
