Why do PDFs look so terrible in Mozilla Firefox?Mozilla FirefoxMozilla Firefox which is popularly known as Firefox is a widely used web browser. A large number of people across the
globe are using Firefox and are quite satisfied with it. As of December 2014 there are half a billion Firefox users around
the world.
But the one major issue that this web browser has is the appearance of PDFs. Every now and then we need to refer to a
PDF file. But when working on Firefox, these PDFs files become a hassle to deal with.
There is a stark difference between the Quality of PDF files when viewed in FirefoxQuality of PDF files when viewed in Firefox and any other browser.
The issue of PDFs looking terrible in FirefoxPDFs looking terrible in Firefox is related to pdf.js add on to the browser. When using Firefox, a PDF file is
viewed directly in the browser rather than downloading the file. Initially Internet Explorer was the only web browser to
have an in-built PDF readerin-built PDF reader, the other browsers triggered Adobe Reader to open a PDF.
Talking about Mozilla Firefox, now this Internet Browser also has a PDF reader, but it is technically not very sound. Since
it is the beta version, PDFs look quite bad. Firefox is designed in such a way that it enables PDFs to be opened in the
browser itself with better security features and leveraging HTML 5. This leads to the poor quality of PDF files.

This is a problem that has no solution to it. If you are uploading PDF files to your website, it would look ghastly on
Firefox. And if you as a user tend to read a lot of PDF files, then the only option you have is to read them in some other
browser. While getting your website designed you can ask the designer to enable the option to force the link to download
the PDF file instead of opening it in the reader itself. But keep in mind that this would require readers to have Adobe
Reader installed.
