Popular culture is defined as anything that is strongly represented and accepted among society.

In the 1920’s slang began to gain popularity. The slang used in the 1920’s greatly differs from the slang used today. The following are some examples of slang used in the 1920’s.

Since the beginning of the new millennium pop culture has had a great impact on language.

The music industry, especially rap, has had the greatest impact on language. In 2005 the word Bling Bling (jewelry) was added to Webster's dictionary.
