Introduction

• Better Crops through hydroponics

• Alkaline, Neutral, Acidic

• 3 different tanks

• 3 different pH levels

• Varying results

Page 3: Presentation Defense

Mongo?

• Simple to grow

• Does not consume time

• Germinates in a matter of few days

• Can be tested in different environments

• Abundant

Behind Hydroponics

• Better growth of plants in hydroponics industry.

• Hydroponics eliminates soil borne diseases.

• Clean agriculture

• Better quality of crops

• Controllable environment

Still Hydroponics?

• a study on the comparison of the growth of musk melon in terms of traditional geoponics (soil) or hydroponics (water).

• plant in an aquatic environment had a better quality of fruit

• hydroponics is a better growth medium for plants.

Page 6: Presentation Defense

Significance?

• Production of better and healthier food.

• Benefits in areas with poor soil quality not suitable for plant growth.

• Crop size suitable to be sold in markets.• Healthy and full of nutrients• Soil is more prone to contaminations.

Materials

• 3 Hydroponics bay/Aquariums

• Perlite - Small Plastic pot- container for the perlite.

• Submersible Pump• Styrophor • Nutrient Solution • Alkaline and Acidic

components • Mongo seeds/seedlings • Blue and Red Litmus

Results

• the acidic system has the highest record of the height

• the neutral pH level tank was in beetween the two levels

• and the alkali pH level had the shortest height of plant

Page 15: Presentation Defense

Conclusion

• acidic pH level in a Hydroponics Station would be the best option in cultivating the Mongo plant.
