Introduction

Laptop with its flexible screen rolled up on the tower is called Rolltop which was developed by Orkin Design .

Rolltop has all the features of laptop and more .

Roll-top is a portable computer development concept for designer, architect and everyone, who would like to have a gadget, which, from an aesthetic standpoint alone, certainly hits the mark. By virtue of the OLED-Display technology and a multi touch screen the utility of a laptop computer with its weight of a mini-notebook and screen size of 13 inch easily transforms into the graphics tablet, which with its 17-inch flat screen can be also used as a primary monitor due to the support attached to the back of the screen.

German designer Evgeny Orkin thinks he has found the answer

with his Roll top concept.

The main goal was to combine the laptop monitor and graphic tablet

into one gadget and avoid additional accessories

He continued to say that consumers have the option to buy a computer and a

graphic tablet with a touch screen separately, but they are not able to use

them as one laptop.

Laptop Versus Rolltop

Unlike a laptop's two-fold, book-like appearance, one needs to unfurl the rolltop .

As a direct consequence, a laptop when closed appears flat while a rolltop when closed, appears rounded, as its name obviously suggests.

Advantages

One, the Rolltop combines the laptop, monitor and graphic tables without any problem .

Secondly, the Rolltop is an all-in-one gadget that integrates the power supply, loud speaker,laptop bag and mouse into one.

Lastly, due to the new available technology, the design is very compact and possesses a completely new outlook.

Drawbacks of Roll-Top:

The only drawback I could see would be if the Roll-Top could make it through as an all-weather carry-on.

Extreme temperatures are known to have an effect on electronic parts. The carry-on feature would also be useless for travel to far flung places that have neither service providers nor power. Yet the design would fit for urban use, can t picture Roll-Top braving the elements on a hiking trip or a trip to the Himalayas. I d like to think that the Roll-Top would also get rid of owners having to buy pricey water-proof cases though.
