Company Profile & History
Strong Shareholders and Diversification of Business Segments
Tour Operators SunExpress is a reliable and trustworthy partner
for tour operators and travel agencies and offers
excellent value-for-money air transportation.
Antalya Airport has become the single largest
destination airport in the Mediterranean
region. SunExpress is the market leader in this
region and has contributed substantially to this
growth.
Two strong parent companies
Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines, are regarded as pioneers in global air traffic. As an
independent subsidiary of these two successful airlines, SunExpress’ main area of
expertise, flying, was part of its make-up at the time it was conceived. The great
confidence of both shareholders is also reflected in a variety of forms of cooperation.
For example, Lufthansa markets selected SunExpress flights on its website. At the
same time, Turkish Airlines entrusts SunExpress with the operation of a large number of
its flights on a wet-lease basis.
Seat Only
SunExpress optimizes the seat-only sales capacity
in line with reference data of the past years.
SunExpress is investing further in its seat-only
sales channels by connecting major touristic
agencies to the SunExpress inventory on a large
scale.
Three successful divisions Wet-Lease Business
Since 2012, SunExpress has successfully
operated a steadily growing fleet for Turkish
Airlines, as well as AnadoluJet, THY’s low-cost
brand. Moreover, SunExpress has started to
cooperate with other airlines (e.g. GOL) to lease-
in aircraft during peak seasons in order to benefit
from strong market demand while at the same
time avoiding fixed costs during winter periods.
New business segment – Longhaul operation Lufthansa awards SunExpress Deutschland with operating its new „WINGS“ lowcost longhaul as of Winter 2015 – 7 Year contract signed FEB 2015
