Upload a photo (click on the pencil that appears when you hover over the grayed out question mark). Use either your logo or a professional headshot for your image. Make sure this is the same image that you use across the board with any other sites you are on

Click on “Info” and add in as much information about your business as you can, typically this is taken directly from your website (image follows on next slide to show an example)

Start posting content, and invite the people on your friends list to ”Like” your page!

About Twitter hashtags #

Hashtags are keywords that are searchable on Twitter and are always prefaced with the “#” symbol. You can use more than one hashtag per tweet, but it’s not recommended that EVERY tweet you have is riddled with hashtags

Common hashtags for the voiceover industry are #vo and #voiceover

You should not only use hashtags to search for other people to follow, but you should use them in your tweets to make it easier for people to follow you

Hashtags should not be used to reference companies that have Twitter accounts, instead you should try to find their Twitter handle and reference them directly

For instance, let’s write up a tweet on Starbucks:

My iced #coffee from @Starbucks was great today, and $1 was donated to #charity. Can’t complain about that! #givingback

Tips to make the most of your LinkedIn profile:

Hyperlink using keywords. Include relevant website addresses in your profile and use links with text that people WANT to click on! For example, instead of “My Blog,” use a keyword to describe it such as “Tips and Tricks for Aspiring Voiceover Talent"

Use keywords in descriptions. That includes the summary, specialties, experience and all other categories. Keywords will show up in a LinkedIn search, so anything you should use keywords relevant to the industry you’re trying to get work in (things such as “voiceover”, “voiceover talent”, “male/female voiceover” and any adjectives to describe your voice)

Include an image in your profile. Don't forget that your profile picture should match your Twitter and Facebook accounts!

Caption: Include blog or website links in your profile

Request recommendations from any former colleagues you have as LinkedIn contacts!

SEO (Search Engine

Optimization)There are 3 categories of search terms for SEO:

Local Search: A search based on a local city or town, i.e. "Burlington, Vermont Restaurant"

Pay-Per-Click: These are sponsored (paid) search results that can appear locally, regionally AND nationally

Organic Search: Natural unpaid searches (locally, regionally AND nationally)

Your goal should be to appear just below the paid listings, at the top of the "organic" results. One very effective way in making this happen is focusing on keywords

Your Website:Your website should contain the following elements:

Description of your voice

Bio about yourself (relative to the VO industry), if you don't have a lot of experience, you should talk about your professional attributes that would make you a pleasure to work with

Services you provide

Types of recordings you offer

How you deliver your work (FTP, MP3 email, CD)

Studio equipment

Names of other clients and testimonials (with the client’s permission)
