• Community Alarm provided free of charge on discharge from hospital up to 12 weeks

Telecare has been defined as..............

‘The continuous, automatic and remote monitoring of real time emergencies and lifestyle changes over time in order to manage the risks associated with independent living’

What is Telecare?•Telecare is the name given to a range of sensors which link with the community alarm unit via your telephone line

•Connected via your telephone line to a response centre 24 hours a day

•If the pendant button is pressed, or one of the sensors is activated, the unit automatically dials the response centre

•Once the call connects to the response centre, they know you need assistance, and will get help to you even if they can’t communicate with you via the Telecare alarm.

•In an emergency they will remain in contact with you until they are satisfied that help is with you and they are no longer needed.
