Ms. Debra Beresini is an experienced manager, investor and entrepreneur. In 1997, she co-‐founded invencor, inc., based in the San Francisco Bay Area and has since served as its CEO. invencor manages both debt and equity funds, provides mentoring and educaFonal programs for venture and private equity investors, consults with entrepreneurial management teams to grow companies and works with lending insFtuFons that focus on emerging growth companies.
Beresini works with emerging growth companies across industries – healthcare, life science, and consumer – helping the management teams develop strategies to build sustainable companies. Her work with lending insFtuFons includes structuring internal plans for risk miFgaFon policies and pracFces for lending to emerging growth companies.
She is a Board Director with HiBEAM www.hibeam.org.
The Building Blocks of a Company’s Growth Strategy

Both large companies as well as startup companies must conFnue to build value to grow. In this session, speakers will discuss the “Building Blocks” to develop a Growth Strategy. Topics include: how a solid strategy is formulated, the compeFFon, the customer, geRng the product out the door. This session also includes an interview on “lessons learned” with a successful entrepreneur.

Developing a great technology or the next big pharmaceuFcal is challenging and exhilaraFng. The researcher/scienFst is like an arFst; they keep perfecFng the work and hope the market will be aUracted to it, but as Steve Jobs said even “An arFst needs to ship”. This session will define the basic tools needed to build a transiFon plan for taking the technology/product to the market, understanding the problem the product is solving for the market, and determine if the best channel for the product is a large established licensing partner or a startup company.
